The beginning of the end. The Apocalypse.

A nuclear fallout wiped out every living thing on the planet, except for a few thousand of us who took shelter in underground bunkers across the globe. Now, after thirteen long years, we were finally able to return to the topside to begin to rebuild.

We thought we were alone. We were never more wrong.

Before the fallout, scientists had worked on creating an anti-radiation vaccine (ARV). The first two attempts failed, but despite the incomplete tests and results, the government approved and distributed the third serum to the masses in an effort to aid those who had no shelter.

It worked, keeping those who remained on the topside alive, but it also altered and mutated them. This new and infectious threat had completely outnumbered us. Now, we not only had to rebuild our planet. We would have to fight for it.

My name is Abigail Park. I’m seventeen, and this is my story.

I haven't got high hopes for it. I didn't realise until after i requested it that it was by the same author who wrote :(

I thought that. this starts with a huge info dump. its like reading a text book.

Chapter 2 - I'm bored already.

at least they don't have internet.

"Do you think it's aliens?"

why would it be aliens?

do they really have ammunition to be wasting?

I thought that. In that world, ammunition is too valuable to be wasted. You'd think they would know better.

chapter 3 (view spoiler)[ so hang on, they just said that nobody could have survived the radiation, then they said that people who received the anti-radiation vaccine have gone bananas. so the vaccine worked against the radiation did it? and these people have been wandering the earth all 'grr' for 13 years? what have they survived on? why haven't they died out? so they haven't yet found out if the virus can be transmitted through the air, but they're preparing to leave and go for a little walk anyway. is that really the best idea? they've still got food to last them 2 years haven't they? and they've still got communications, why not wait?

I would have waited and trained more, and then go when you know it's as safe as it can be, and when you're fully prepared.... not after 10 days!

so what have the zombies on the topside been eating for 13 years?!
and he says they're 'not human', they haven't died though, they've got dementia! people with dementia are still human no matter how bad their symptoms. that's really bad.

well it looks like Charlie is asking the pertinent questions - are they likely to attack us if we go up there?

there's hope, and there's blind faith.

My uncle has Dementia, and he can't eat unless his food is liquidized... so who's going to liquidize the flesh for them?!

why is it in these post-apocalyptic stories, if a book is to be found, its always harry potter?

Every book that mentions a book has harry potter.
The authors think if they mention a book everyone loves, they'll love their book.... wrong.
