Early Childhood Tate Callum DeLuca was born to two wealthy Europeans, Fabian and Antoinette. His parents had had a child, primarily because they needed an heir. The perfect son, someone who would obey them and love them. The two didn't have any idea of what they were doing, and couldn't be bothered with the labor of a newborn. That's where Laura came in. Laura Newcomb was the then-young woman who was hired to take care of Tate, raising the boy practically as her own. Tate rarely ver saw his parents, and in their presence, was forced to stay silent unless spoken to. His parents spoiled him with toys, playgrounds, and any thing he wanted, but it never made little Tate as happy as he was when he was with Laura. Laura read him stories, played trains with him, and allowed him to come on errands with him when his parents were away. Fabian and Antoinette may be his birth parents, but Tate never loved them as much as he did Laura. Tate's normal days consisted of waking up every morning precisely at 7 am, eating an already prepared breakfast, dressing in proper clothes, then allowing himself to be whisked around by Laura. His private lessons began at around age 6, where a prestigious professor came daily to give Tate his lessons, insuring that the DeLuca child got his education. Tate never cared for the professor, and usually failed to pay attention. After a while, his parents confronted their six year old boy o his lack of concentration for five hours of studying, to the protest of Laura. After this standing up to his parents, the DeLucas enforced even harsher and stricter laws on their son. Bedtimes, what clothes he could wear, who he could see, what tv he could watch. And no more Laura if he ever broke the rules. Ever since then, Tate became a bitter, lonely little boy, diligently participating in his studies to become something he couldn't even care for at the pleasure of his parents.
Adolescence As the years went by and Tate went into his high school grades, he became desperate for companionship, and rebellious against the ridiculous rules he had to follow. His unlimited Internet access had allowed him to search things like 'normal teenage life' and 'high school', making him long for the bullies that could push him in the hallways, the annoying yard supervisors, and the massive history projects. And most of all? Friends. Tate had snuck out of his house only once, too terrified and naive to where he was going and turning back after only a half mile. Laura had tried to convince his parents to let him at least attend a private school, but they had been negative to the idea of exposing their perfect son to the horrors of the world. He was innocent, and submitted to reading, practicing his Italian and French, helping Laura, or just taking walks with Alfie around the large property.
