Terri Herman-Poncé (terriponce) | 9 comments I'm looking for fiction set in Ancient Egypt and fiction about OOParts (out of place artifacts). I've read Michelle Moran and I just finished Papyrus: A Thriller.

What can you suggest? I've been searching Amazon and my eyes are about crossed -- lots out there but I can't tell what's worth my time and what's worth passing on.

If you can help, thank you!

Thanks for the tip...you're not the first to recommend her and I'm going to check her out now. :)

Theresa I'm looking for Biography series I read from my school library in the 60's. Each one was individual historical American. I think the series was something like 'I was there' or something. Anybody have any ideas?

There's a set of Ancient Egypt whodunnits by Paul Doherty: the Mask of Ra etc that are quite fun...

Woot! I'm totally loving all these recommendations. THANK YOU!

If you like YA, and if you can find it (it's long out of print) - The Lost Queen of Egypt, by Lucile Morrison.

Carolcares4u (crazycarol) | 22 comments I just purchased a copy for $5.96 at AbeBooks. It took me just a minute to find it. See if they have another.

Carolcares4u (crazycarol) | 22 comments Don't know if it's a hardback. Never looked at that aspect. Did they make paperbacks then?

Paperbacks were introduced in the 30s, when it came out, but I don't know that it was ever released in that form. I've only seen it in hardback, myself.

Terri Herman-Poncé (terriponce) | 9 comments I saved my search on ebay. Maybe one day I'll get lucky.

Jukka (kindlereader_85) Easily the best book ever written in this framework. Sinuhe the Egyptian

In some ways the book is torture, but it is a must read.

What does the Education of Henry Adams have to do with Ancient Egypt?

Leslie I thought I was posting ideas under a thread titled Looking For Recommendations in a History Group. I didn't see anything about Egypt in the title. Now that I've read your comment I see the first comment was about Egypt. Oh well.

Oh, yes, that can be easy to do.

John Fulford | 2 comments Try some history of Latin America. It's completely ignored yet it is extraordinarily fascinating. For the least known region (southern South America) read 'To reach the Sea' ISBN 9780983187240. It will open up a whole new world. It's also very easy reading.
