Scott (thekeeblertree) | 99 comments Awesome! Might be time for a reread :D

I really loved the first couple chapters, where we get a sense of the history of the game, etc. Very interesting and fun

David Hedges | 71 comments I really enjoyed this when I read it recently. But that might be my age - the 80s were my decade!! :)

message 4: by Shel, Moderator (new) - rated it 4 stars

Shel (shel99) | 3149 comments Mod
I read it a while ago and really liked it - 80s nostalgia FTW!

Alexa (AlexaNC) | 64 comments I'm hoping to read this, probably towards the end of the month though.

Amanda | 69 comments Planning to read, have in requested from my library.

Colleen | 19 comments Am reading right now, about half through. liking the plot so far

Justine (justine_ao) | 636 comments I read this not too long ago, so I will participate in the discussion. I loved it:)

message 10: by Teanka (new) - added it

Teanka I'd like to read it, if time permits. It's been waiting on my shelf for a long time.

Stuart (asfus) | 136 comments Read it and really enjoyed it

message 12: by Ken (new)

Ken (ogi8745) | 1434 comments I have it on my shelf, borrowed it from my son.
I am not sure if I will get to it this month. I am aiming for the Martian next.

Lindsey | 415 comments Read it a few months ago, so I'll join the discussion. Read it with my IRL book club and wasn't overly impressed.

Alexa (AlexaNC) | 64 comments 4 stars = "not overly impressed?" Or did it just fade in memory?

Justine (justine_ao) | 636 comments lol! This from the person who just rated a book 2 stars and then said she couldn't wait for the next one! In all seriousness though, I was wondering the same thing Lindsey?

Alexa (AlexaNC) | 64 comments HA! 2 stars means "OK." Sometimes OK is bleh, and sometimes it's, you know, OK.

Justine (justine_ao) | 636 comments Alexa wrote: "HA! 2 stars means "OK." Sometimes OK is bleh, and sometimes it's, you know, OK."

I know, I know, I'm just bugging you:)

mark monday (majestic-plural) | 116 comments I just zipped through half of this book today and I am loving it. so much fun! probably helps that I grew up in the 80s so everything feels familiar. well, outside of the video game references, as I've never been a gamer.

message 19: by Lindsey (last edited Sep 09, 2015 11:22AM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Lindsey | 415 comments Um... so I thought it was a good example of what it was trying to do. But what it was trying to do wasn't for me. I didn't love it but it wasn't a bad book. Does that make sense?

And to be honest, my IRL book club read this one and LOVED it and I felt a little funny downgrading it without considering what they liked about it first. I was hoping their comments would persuade me off the fence and they did help me see more value than I got on my read through. I can explain better in the "finished reading" thread where I can put plot spoilers.

Alexa (AlexaNC) | 64 comments So far I'm finding it fun, but it's fun in the time-wasting inconsequential way of a video game - not in any lasting way.
