I'm curious. Did anyone else reread the series before this one came out besides me?

Oh my sweet, sweet Dorian. I'm so afraid for him and that first chapter was rough :(

I also already miss Rowan. I wish he could have gone with Aelin :( I hope he isn't gone the whole book. I'll be really sad.

Anna I haven't reread the books, but i've read Heir of Fire in June so I remember everything quite well.

And the first chapter of this book broke my heart. I ha just gotten the book and I was like: just only gonna ready the first chapter because I'm curious.
And then it already broke my heart and I realized how not ready I am for this book.

I'm now at chapter 9 and I've loved every page so far :)

Alisha Laurit (alishaherbooks) | 34 comments I had all of these book for the first time this summer so everything is pretty fresh in my mind. That first chapter though, Dorian. I'm so scared for him. I also don't trust Arobynn, at all. Like, not at all. He has just betrayed her so many other times.

Christina (melonsjasmine) | 20 comments I re-read the series before starting this one to refresh my mind. And can I say that on the re-read I started liking Chaol less. I mean I guess we're supposed too, but I mean... He's just so dumb. But he's consistently dumb and stubborn so I understand.

Because I love them so much, I still love Chaol and Aelin. They are both so stubborn and pigheaded I wanna slap them. The scene where he sells her ring broke my heart! I honestly think they can get back together because let's face it, the only one she would be any good with relationship wise is Rowan and he's not falling in love with her ever.

I do miss Rowan. Like a million bazillion times. And I'm super scared for Dorian. But, I think he's going to break out of the collar himself. With some help from Aelin of course.

I'm glad Aedion's ok, even if it's just for the king's plan. If he dies I will lose it!

Does anyone else notice how Aelin doesn't get along well with women at all? I thought her interaction with Lysandra was an indication of this.

Have you read The Assassin's Blade yet? Because that will explain her dislike of Lysandra! They have a long history!

She's not around too many women, but she used to be best friends with Nehemiah of course... She develops female friendships later too!

Obviously not saying anything about Chaol right now because I've finished and you haven't. Excited for you to read on so we can discuss more!!!

I've read The Assasin's Blade and I totally get why they don't like eachother, but I think it's interesting to note that Aelin is one of those girls who always has guy friends and never has girl friends. Maybe it's because of Lady Marion's sacrifice, that she doesn't feel comfortable around women, or it's the fact she's an assassin and hasn't been around women a lot, or it could be from that girl she met in the Red Waste. I'm on Chapter 20 now and I like Lysandra, and I like their friendship. I'm glad Aelin is getting that much needed female friendship. I think they're going to be a formidable pair.

Omg if something bad happens with Chaol I'm going to lose it! I can't explain why I like him so much, I just do. Even though he's just so dumb! You're giving me incentive to read faster. lol.

Georgina I started this series this year so everything was still fresh in my mind going into this book. I'm hoping Aelin can save Dorian that first chapter was heartbreaking that he is losing himself already. I also don't trust Arobynn at all and I just know something bad is going to come from the deal. I hope Rowan turns up later in the book
