PtP - Five Little Peppers (5)

2. Pick a Team Captain. The team captain will track the books read by the team and double-check that your book selection complies with the rules - eg make sure that the selection and completion posts are as per the formatting and information requested below (msg 3).
Anyone is free to ask questions in the Q&A/Announcement thread - here. If you are unsure, please ask.
Once a Captain has been decided, the Team Captain should reserve a couple of posts in this thread to track their team's book selection and completion. (Alternatively they could convert one of their chat comments to the tracking post/s.)
3. Name your team. This is not mandatory, but it is fun. Given we are an open/public group with no age limit, so please make sure any chosen name is smart, not smutty ;)
Please PM your name to Jane(PS) by 9 September.
4. If you have a private profile, please 'friend' your team-mates. This is really important, because without this, your team-mates can't see your shelves to select a books under option 2.
5. Please post your book selections/completions in the format provided below. (This format is also posted in both the Q&A and Sign-Up threads.) We need to know the week that each book corresponds to, the page numbers, and how the book qualifies including links to lists/shelves (where applicable), etc. I can't stress this enough. When in doubt - link it*!
* please don't link to your review in your completion post - reviews in your completion posts should be included in full in that post.
You don't want to start reading a book and then find it doesn't meet the requirements because some information (eg page count or theme link) was missing from your original post.
I will be monitoring this and your book will not be considered complete until I am satisfied that your selection and completion posts comply with the format rules of the challenge.
Remember - you can ONLY change your book selection in the week that the theme is called.
6. You MUST check in with your team each week, ideally once the theme is announced. Please let your team know if you expect to have spotty communication or are on holidays or having an operation.
7. When you post the completion of your book, you must post a review; enough for us to know you have actually read the book. Please don't link to a review. You must post the review in this thread.
8. Re-reads are allowed but you can't read the same book twice within this challenge.
9. There is no prize for the winning team - bragging rights only :)
10. Each week, the theme will be announced in the Q&A/Announcement thread. The full list of themes announced during this round will be maintained in msg 1 of that thread.
The Rule on the Pass Option
* Each team can only have ONE member using their pass each week.
* Each member can only use that pass once each 5 weeks.
* This means that one or two team members (dependent upon the size of your team) will miss using a pass in each 5 week block.
* No-one can use the pass option in the last week of the challenge.
* In the final week Option 2 has altered and I will be allocating each team another team from which their book selection must be chosen :)

For the initial selection post Option 1 I need:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Page numbers
How the book qualifies - please insert a link to the qualifying bookshelf/list.
If the theme is based off the bookcover or a letter in the title etc, please just repeat the theme.
For the initial selection post Option 2 I need:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Page numbers
Name of the team-member, their star rating, the date they read the book.
For the completion post I need:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Rating (1-5)
Review
Please DO NOT CHAT in these selction/completion posts. It needs to be super clear.
If you 'waffle' about your decided book - please REPOST your selection once you decide. DO NOT go back and edit your waffling post.

A summary chart will be posted in the last week to let teams know their progress against other teams :)

This is one of my favorite challenges. I've been doing this one since the very first one when Jane introduced it. And I was one of the ones that bugged her to keep going for it.
I typically read A LOT. I do it for enjoyment but it's also my job. I love challenges like this but it helps me get through my TBR, find new authors/books, and make new friends. Jane will tell you that I can be chatty. Can't help it. If I get annoying just tell me to shush. I won't be offended.
If no one else is interested, I don't mind being a captain.

This is my first participation in this challenge and I'm quite excited :)
A little bit about myself: I'm Mai, I'm 38 yrs old and live in Hamburg, Germany (info when to expect my posts: I'm on MET time). Like Amy, I read a lot. A book or two per day is very normal to me. While it is my third language, I still read most books in English (I hate waiting for translations and prefer the original text).
Since I'm new to this challenge, I'd rather not want to be captain.

Our of curiosity, what is the time difference to the US? Right now it's 5:12 am for me. And if English is your third language, what is your second?

True true :) I love these challenges; its part of my social schedule ;)

Love this challenge. I'm from Wales. I read a lot too, but I don't think it's help me get through TBR as I'm always adding to it.
I don't mind being captain.

I participated in this challenge before but it's been a while, somehow I always managed to miss sign ups so I'm looking forward to playing again

Ah okay. Thank you Gea. I have a few friends in UK and Ireland so I'm used to them being ahead of me. Typically meeting someone in my own time zone throws me off LOL

I'm the kind of person that will go with the majority on things.

I'm not going to hit that high a number at the end of the year, probably in the 650 range. I have read nearly 450 so for this year.

I'm the kind of person that will go with the majority on things."
I don't really mind our name, will go with the majority. As I said I don't mind being captain.

I'm always used to being between 6-8 hours ahead of most, unless of course of the ones in Australia etc.

@all: I'm bad at naming - I'll go with whatever you choose.
@Amy: I'm sorry, I wasn't online the past hours - my family was visiting. Six hours sounds about right :) My second language is Low-Saxon (in a heavily Danish- influenced dialect, it's a local minority language and my mother's first language - who is part of the Danish minority in Northern Germany. It's what we spoke at home). I also know a little "real" Danish and French.

LOL, I'm good at that. Don't mind me, I have no life ;)

And I just realized that feel MNGers are here! That's another favorite of mine.

name suggestions :
International Book Lovers as we are in so many different time zones
Or five readers plus a fairy in keeping with numbers theme,
Five ladies and a fairy.
Five country readers.
Five gals and a fairy.
I don't mind about captain.
oops i misspoke i was not on any winning team for this challenge. i did not brag for nothing. my conscious is now clear jajajaj

I have two best friends. One lives in England, the other is in Michigan. I live on Long Island. Well, we're always doing something together and people online started to call us the Three Musketeers. Well, as that is so over used we renamed us the Three Fairies.
So in one of the PTP challenges we tried to come up with a name. We ended up going with 3 Goddesses and a Fairy!
Love your thinking, Maritza! I've been on two winning teams, captain of one. So I can be a little competitive...in a fun way.
I like International Book Readers.

And you need to settle on a name :) Perhaps the captain can make an executive decision on this, since there are quite a few options out here...

Great! I guess now we just need the name ;)

Brazen Book Blasters
Peachy Publication Perusers
International Book Lovers
five readers plus a fairy
Five ladies and a fairy.
Five country readers.
Five gals and a fairy
Five Little Peppers

You were the lucky ones!!
I've PM'd Pam, but it may take time for her to see it :)

I'm Pam. I live in Northern Virginia, right outside of Washington DC. Amy, my teaching partner coaches softball. I am comfortable with whatever name works for you guys. I'm going to be grateful to just be a part of your group. This will be my third PtP challenge and I begged because it's my favorite.
