Amber | 3678 comments Okay so two people in high school. Should they be friends or strangers or what?

message 3: by Slowly (new)

Slowly | 23 comments Strangers, I feel like that would make more sense.

message 4: by Amber (new)

Amber | 3678 comments Either one works

message 5: by Slowly (new)

Slowly | 23 comments Okay so should we start by putting a little bit about our characters

message 6: by Amber (new)

Amber | 3678 comments I don't like making personalities for my character because they change from what I say. I normally do name, age, and appearance. History sometimes.

message 7: by Slowly (new)

Slowly | 23 comments Yeah that works. SO

Slowly | 23 comments okay so i'll just start.

Olivia sat in her room looking out the window. It was rainy and clouds filled the sky, although she didn't mind. The rain was somewhat peaceful and gave her time to think.

Amber | 3678 comments (Wait can they be at a boarding school so it's like dorms and stuff?)

message 11: by Slowly (new)

Slowly | 23 comments (yes they can, that's a good idea)

message 12: by Amber (new)

Amber | 3678 comments Avril stepped out of the cab that had carried her to her new life. The ran most people we say was cursing her but she saw it as a blessing. It was cleansing her of her past. She smiled as the smell of wet pavement attacked her nostrils. Her smiled widened as she twirled in the ran a couple times with her arms stretched out wide. After she grabbed her bags the cab left and she stepped into the school, ready for a new beginning.

Slowly | 23 comments Olivia looked out her window and saw a girl twirling in the rain. She smiled remembering how nice it was to be so free and happy. Now she was anything but. Of course, for the outside world she put on a brave face but she had a very, some could say troubled, past. Stepping away from the window she sat in front of her vanity and began to brush her long thick tendrils into a low pony at the nape of her neck, thinking of her plans for the day.

message 14: by Amber (new)

Amber | 3678 comments (Maybe they can be roommates?)

message 15: by Slowly (new)

Slowly | 23 comments (sure)

message 16: by Amber (new)

Amber | 3678 comments The heavy wooden doors creaked as Avril pushed them open with a good shove. Once inside she found a secretary and soon she had her schedule and a dorm room. When offered assistance she denied it. She wanted to find her way herself so she could think and pause if she needed to. Up a couple staircases and a few hallways later she was standing in front of her new room with her roommate inside. She went to knock but paused. Suddenly all her optimism left and she was nervous. She rubbed her arms where bruises and cuts were slowly dwindling away but scars remained revealing the things she had been through. She closed her eyes tightly and counted to three, when she opened them again she knocked.

message 17: by Slowly (new)

Slowly | 23 comments Olivia paused when she heard a knock at the door. Her pale pink lips immediately went into a crooked smile and eyes darted to the mirror giving herself a once over. Her hair was pulled back and perfectly straight. Her eyes a hauntingly beautiful hazel color and light freckles almost non existent against her pale skin. She didn't have on any makeup today and she wasn't planning on it. Standing up and smoothing out her yellow sundress she made her way over to the door and opened it looking at a girl standing before her. "Hello." She started voice cracking a bit from lack of use.

message 18: by Amber (new)

Amber | 3678 comments "Hi," Avril said quietly. Her shyness came through. "I-I'm your roommate," she said with a nervous stutter. She had never been allowed to talk to people outside of her family, she was homeschool to hide her abuse. The only social skills she had was what she had read in books. Sometimes she could channel a character and actually get through a conversation decently. Most days that didn't happen, but she hoped she could eventually get comfortable with her roommate. She was sure her impression wasn't great. Her hair was drenched and the converse she wore needed to be replaced years ago. There were holes in the knees of her skinny jeans that hadn't been put there purposefully, and her long sleeved shirt was faded.

message 19: by Slowly (new)

Slowly | 23 comments "Oh." Olivia stated calmly ushering the girl into the room. "I'm Olivia, My friends called me Olive." She didn't elaborate on the fact that the sentence was past tense. It was weird, she didn't know what to think of the girl. She seemed like an odd character but at the same time someone she knew she couldn't help but get to know. Although that would be a little hard, Olivia wasn't exactly a people person half the time. Forgetting all the thoughts racing through her head she took the girls bags and set them next to the other bed in the dorm.

message 20: by Amber (new)

Amber | 3678 comments Avril raised an eyebrow when Olivia said 'called' it was an interesting word choice. "I'm Avril," she said quietly. "As much as id love an introduction id like a warm shower first. So um thanks for putting my bags by the bed," she said her words coming out quickly but it was the most she had said. She grabbed a change of clothes and her toiletries then went to the attached bathroom. When she closed the door she pressed her back against it and sighed. She was more overwhelmed than she had originally expected to be. After she calmed down she found a clean towel and put her shampoo and things in the in shower before she stepped in herself.

message 21: by Slowly (new)

Slowly | 23 comments As soon as Avril made her somewhat hasty exit and stepped into the bathroom, Olivia's steady composure dropped and she flopped down on her bed a huge sigh escaping her lips. She was in for a long day and she knew it. Sitting up she crossed her legs and sat her elbows on her knees while resting her face in her palms. She was worried. Her anxiety was through the roof and she wondered how the situation would play out. Would Avril like her? Would she even like Avril? It was a swarm of questions buzzing around in her head. She didn't exactly know what to think.

message 22: by Amber (new)

Amber | 3678 comments After she had washed away the rain Avril stepped out with her towel wrapped around her body. She looked at her reflection in the mirror. Her makeup had washed away revealing the scar that ran from the corner of her left eye, along just the outside of her hairline, to the bottom of her ear. Her eye had a little color to it but she could pass it off as being tired if she wanted to. The other spots on her body looked as if they wouldn't fade for a while, but even in the future she wasn't sure if she could ever where short sleeves again. She changed into a purple long sleeved shirt and black jeans that were print ally skinny but a little loose from wearing them often. She towel dried her hair then brushed through it before she exited the bathroom. She only hoped she was prepared for this awkward encounter.

message 23: by Slowly (new)

Slowly | 23 comments Olivia jumped a little when Avril came out not expecting her to be out as soon as she did. She got up and pretended to be cheery and gave her a warm smile. "So that's your side of the room, You have a queen sized bed and a desk the comes with a chair and a lamp. There's extra bedding in the closet of you forgot a comforter there's one. I brought a mini-fridge with me and feel free to use it. Downstairs in the common area there's free beverages and a huge refrigerator and microwave too. But if you buy any special food I reckon you should keep it up here because it seems as if some girls can't read labels." Olivia said babbling so much she had to stop and take a breath. "We're aloud to go off campus but curfews at 9." She let out a chuckle, this is a boarding school and all, I'm surprised they even let us leave on our own but were right next to downtown so I suppose they shouldn't mind that much..." She trailed off realizing she was talking way too much to try an overcompensate for her nervousness.

message 24: by Amber (new)

Amber | 3678 comments "Okay," Avril nodded. "Thank you," she added. She grabbed the bedding and made up her bed. After that she starts putting her clothes away, all long sleeves and jeans other than a couple pairs of shorts and short sleeved t shirts that looked brand new. She shoved her empty suitcases under the bed and let out a sigh. She was all unpacked and it had taken little time to no time. She was told they didn't start classes until the following week. Which she was both thankful for and nervous about. Since she didn't know anyone she would be cooped up here and from the sound of her roommates talking she didn't have any friend either which meant she might be doing the same thing.

message 25: by Slowly (new)

Slowly | 23 comments "So..." Olivia said cautiously and cleared her throat. "What are you interested in?" She layed back on her bed. The question could be answered a multitude of different ways but she left it up to her roommate to answer however she saw fit.

message 26: by Amber (new)

Amber | 3678 comments "Oh um. I don't really know. I like reading," Avril replied. She really didn't know. She hadn't ever been allowed to do anything except read. Every once in a while she heard some music and liked it but she never knew who it was or what type. "I remember liking soccer when I was little," she added. The time before things went bad.

message 27: by Slowly (new)

Slowly | 23 comments Olivia rolled over to look at her and propped her head up with her elbow. She didn't like much, and she had a sense the girl hadn't done much or knew what she liked. Olivia grimaced guessing she would have to be the one sharing most of the new things. "Um, I like reading too, and I could spend hours doing it, or watching movies, eating is good too," she said listing the three basic ways she was content with wasting time on. Outside is okay, I mostly like it when it's raining." She gestured outside to the pouring rain and thunder.

message 28: by Amber (new)

Amber | 3678 comments "I haven't seem many movies. When I was little I did though. And I used to hate the rain. But I started to like it when I got older," Avril replied. She had always rode her bike or walked home when her parents had her go to the store and other places so she used to hate it when it rained. But now she didn't mind.

message 29: by Slowly (new)

Slowly | 23 comments "Every Sunday night they play movies in the auditorium. "Maybe we should go tonight?" She asked tentatively.

message 30: by Amber (new)

Amber | 3678 comments "That sounds cool. I'd like to go," Avril said. She looked down to her feet and noticed she had been twisting her hair like she always did. A nervous habit she hadn't cared to stop. "I'm sorry by the way," she said awkwardly. "I know I'm probably a little weird to you but I uh. I haven't had much human contact. I don't really know how to act around people. I don't even really know how I would like to act. Like, I don't have a personality I guess I'm saying," she sputtered.

message 31: by Slowly (new)

Slowly | 23 comments She nodded understanding the girls nervousness. "I get you, I may seem like it but I'm not at all a people person to be honest," She sighed looked down at her slender fingers interlocked together in a nervous twine. "It's an act, a façade of sorts I guess I could say, but maybe we could learn to be comfortable around people together," she suggested nervously.
