J_BlueFlower (j_from_denmark) | 387 comments I am currently reading Scherfig's second best known book The Missing Bureaucrat, and I think it is worthy of a list place. However, if I had to pick only one it would be Stolen Spring.

So, I added is to “Books that SHOULD be on the 1001-list but aren't“. Currently “The Kite Runner“ is the most obvious missing book. I am a bit surprised to see “Ender's Game” as number 7. I agree!

Amy (Other Amy) | 32 comments Great topic. I would note that the list with all the books

is always in need of people to vote on the books that have very few votes (to make sure they stay on the list). So if anyone wants to drive by and donate their hundred votes to the last few pages of the list, that is a worthy thing to do.

J_BlueFlower (j_from_denmark) | 387 comments That is a good idea. It also makes it a lot easier to remove books that should not be on the Goodreads-list: Those with only one vote are candidate for a check-up. There are none right now, and the number of books seems right.

Good point. (They are trying to get all the books up to a cushion of at least four or five votes, and everything on that Listopia right now is definitely on the list, so you can vote with impunity at the moment.)

Thanks for the heads-up on the list! I'll go through and vote for the ones that only have 2 or 3 votes (and verify they are on the list first, of course). My little project for the short term. :)

Thanks, Linda!

Linda | 275 comments I gave all my hundred votes to books with only 2 votes. There were a lot of interesting books down in those last few pages!

J_BlueFlower (j_from_denmark) | 387 comments Yes, there are. How about number
1242 S. by Slavenka Drakulić 4.13 avg rating
1247 The War of the End of the World by Mario Vargas Llosa 4.20 avg rating
1279 The Temple of My Familiar by Alice Walker 4.03 avg rating

One really caught my attention:
Uncle Petros and Goldbach's Conjecture: A Novel of Mathematical Obsession
Number 13 on the “Best Books About Mathematics” list. What? Why haven't I seen that one before?

Amy (Other Amy) | 32 comments There really are. When I did my votes, Homo Faber, which I loved, was on the third to last page with three votes. It's up to page five with five votes now. (I should redistribute a few votes to the more needy.)

Thanks so much for the initiative, J and Amy, and for your votes, everyone else. I'm one of the librarians "watching" the listopia list. Now all the spam and wrongly added books appear at the very end of the list and can be removed very quickly. That's such a relief.

Amy (Other Amy) | 32 comments Thank you, Ellinor, for guarding that list so well. It's such a great resource and I love it.
