Week 36: What are you reading?

I just finished the last book in the Stage Dive series ... I loved the entire series :) they are not literary masterpieces but they gave me the warm fuzzies :)
The Library has the first 3 but I had to buy the last for my nook - I just couldn't wait to find out what happened.
Currently I'm listening to The Red Queen and reading One More Chance, Allegiant, Every Last Breath, and Guilty Pleasure -

I listened to Red Queen as well Jennifer, I'll be interested to hear what you think of it.

I read the Red Queen, but I didn't enjoy it very much. The whole thing felt formulaic, I didn't connect with any of the characters, and the world-building was sketchy at best. :( But, it's the most popular YA book published so far this year, according to goodreads, so I'm clearly of the minority opinion here. LOL!

Before this year ends, I want to read The Martian. :)

I listened to the audio book, and it was great. It was one of those books that as soon as it was over I almost wanted to listen to it again, but that may just be me. I hope the movie does the book justice.
As far as Red Queen goes, I didn't think it was a "great" book, but it was interesting enough that I wanted to know what happen. I was a little disappointed when what DID happen was what I expected (a surprise thrown in would have been great!) but I didn't think it was terrible. So I agree that it was a bit formulaic.

I gave up on Number9Dream, and will try The Cloud Atlas next in his books. I'm still reading A World Undone, and am also reading The Perfect Hope (vol 3 in The Inn Boonsboro Trilogy) by Nora Roberts. I also found some Mercedes Lackey bundles on BN for my Nook: the complete Arrows Trilogy, and also the first two books in The 500 Kingdoms series. I've also been reading a couple of shifter series by Vivian Arend, fun books set in NW Canada with a great sense of place.

What are you reading this week? Anything amazing that you just have to recommend?
I picked up a series that I LOVED when I was younger - the Jessica Darling series by Megan McCafferty. I found book 1 on the shelves at the Central Library so I checked it out and read it in a day. Now, I'm rabid for more. The Library has the second book, Second Helpings but not the third. :( Time to hunt around!
