Vivian Waring (vivianwaring) | 77 comments Hi Brenda, thanks for inviting a newcomer who is still trying to figure it all out. Published my first fiction novel WHEN TEARS RAN DRY last year without any real notion on what to do next. So took a deep breath and went on tour and for the firt time in my life spoke into a microphone in front of a group of strangers assebled in various liraries across Victoria. Thankfully I was well received & thoroughly enjoyed the experience and met some wonderful people. Have had excellent reviews along the way, which was great, but, and this is the big but, as number 3 darling daughter pointed out, unless I got on-line and onto sites like Goodread, no one else was going to know I even existed. So here I am, fumbling along in the hope that I will be noticed. So here goes. When I first began writing it was mainly a memoir for my 4 young daughters to give them an idea of what my life was like growing up in the 60's during the Vietnam War years, before colour TV, mobile phones or computers and dare I say it, when people actualy wrote letters to each other. Some of these personal letters formed the basis for my novel that eventually took on a life of its own and so WHEN TEARS RAN DRY a love story spanning over 20 years acros two continents was born. So now as I plod away at my next novel which hopefully won't take as long to complete, I look forward to any feed back or comments and will happily answer any queries. Thanks again

Veronica ⭐️ | 2386 comments Good luck with your book Vivian. Your daughter is right, it's all online now. Hopefully she will help you navigate some of the computer stuff. I still have no idea what I'm doing. :)

Hi Veronica, nice to meet you. You're right, it certainly is a whole new world of computers out there.
As a newcomer I find the best part of it all is connecting with others like yourself.

I have just read your bio on your author page and think perhaps you should be writing your autobiography. That's quite a life you have enjoyed so far:)

Isn't it an amazing life Phrynne:) I think Vivian's autobiography would be an excellent read!

Though the blurb on When Tears Ran Dry seems to indicate a similarity:)

Thanks Phrynne. The story is fictional but it is based on personal experiences. Have more ideas swimming around in my head for a follow-up.
