I read this when it came it so won't join you on this one. Hope you enjoy.

I was a little lukewarm about it, TTYTT, although many loved it. I feel the writer has potential, but the book seemed a bit 'under-edited' to me, as if it was rushed out. There was a lot of fanfare when it was released, but it needed tightening up IMO, and the anachronistic terms annoyed me. I'm hoping the next book will be tighter.

BTW it's still full price on kindle Australia.

Shame. I heard that, too, but one of my GR besties who knows how weird I am about HRs told me it should work for me :D

Hi Sweety, I would like to read the author sometime but I know I can’t commit to anything that isn’t in audio for a buddy read. I simply am reading too slow.

I'm going to be reading Always a Scoundrel by Suzanne Enoch sometime in the coming week as a part of one of the challenges for the year. Just wanted to see if anyone also has this book in their TBR (forever, like I did) and would like a buddy read for the same.

Mamacita and I are planning to read The Making of a Duchess, which is the first in the Sons of the Revolution series by Shana Galen. The second is one of the April BOTM. I believe we’re starting today/tomorrow.

I’m interested in a buddy read of a book that just appeared in my feed a few minutes ago. I think it was publ in 2000. The book is The Last Knight by Candice Proctor, a medieval, I think in the time of WM the bastard’s (AKA WM the conqueror/Duke of Normandy who killed the last Saxon king of England and got the ball rolling for Norman rule of England, and have had foreigners on the throne ever since) Willie’s great-grandson, Henry II and founder of the Plantagenet Dynasty.

I have read Sharon Kay Penman HF trilogy (years before getting on GR) where Henry is a key character.

I have checked Hoopa and Overdrive collections for 4 public library systems in my region—this book isn’t available.

I’m willing to buy the book, but maybe one or some of you already own it? My town library doesn’t have a dead tree edition either.

Any takers?

I might join in also. Been meaning to pick up another Candice Proctor book for a while. I have only read Night in Eden a few years back and enjoyed her writing. Medieval is not really a favourite era of mine, but I guess I'm in the mood for something a bit different. When are you both planning to start?

when are you starting? You can get the audio for 3.50 with the kindle purchase. A real bargain since the audio itself is like 32.00. I'm intrigued because this is the era when I really enjoyed romance so I think I'm going to give it a try.
