Rebecca chapters 12-17

Is it true that Parvin is invincible as she thinks, since she believes the clock is hers? What if the clock is Reid's?

I was telling my sister about this book and she asked if the paths people take could change the time left on their clock. Like if you join the military instead of taking an office job and whoops! the clock just decreased by several years ;)

I'm not really convinced that is Parvin's clock. But I'm not sure that it is Reid's clock either....but I think she should be careful of her invincible feelings...

Do you think wild animals could actually become so accustomed to hearing a sound (scream) announcing a meal that they would forgo a meal that was right in front of them?

Yes. Absolutely. Though we just talked about Pavlov's Dog in Philosophy so....

What do you think of Hawke?

I'm quite intrigued my him. I'm really hoping to learn more about him!

Chapters 18-23:

Can you believe Nadine allowed Parvin to actually be seriously injured!? Is this different or similar than other books like this that you have read?

Yes I am surprised!! Authors don't do that!! Well, some authors will allow characters to have serious injuries, but usually not ones that totally change the way they will have to live. I was shocked when I read that scene.

Who is Jude? Is he good or evil? Why do you believe he is hesitant to go to the city? What is his relationship with Hawke?

I quite like Jude. I know Parvin has her reasons for mistrusting him, but I think he will be a great help to her.

Isn't Willow the sweetest!? What makes her want to leave her village, even though she shares their beliefs, to join Parvin and Jude?

Willow is....interesting. I'm really not attached to her though. I kinda hope she shows up in the story again so I can get to know her better, but I won't be that disappointed if she doesn't.
