Read this a few weeks back and found it to be a real page turner.

I just started, read the first 2 chapters - it's intense and alternating between her inner thoughts and what she actually says shows the turmoil roiling under the surface.

I'm going to add this one to my TBR list, and I hope to get through it before the discussion is over. Looks really good!

Is this a stand alone says its the 3rd book of the hollows?

Lisa Unger's page has Hollows 1 & 2 but this one is not linked to the series. I suppose they could add it later but for now it appears a standalone.

It is set in the hollows but it is a stand alone I think.

Just stopping by but have to go to work. Read last night but - well, had to sleep sometime. Plan to read more tonight....got into it right away even though prologue was a little sketchy....lets see what the job does.....rich and a 4.0 average...interesting....

Finally started last night. Only about 40 pages in but really impressed with how she gets into the main character's head. Very good psychological fiction. Hope to read more tonight!

finished in the wee hours last night 3am worth it great book thank you for the great suggestion. found a new Author to read.

Agree, a real page turner, it moves quickly, effortlessly. About half way through. Good characters.

Pleasure to read - the psychological insights and comments, complicated tortured families (to put it mildly), streamlined writing. I plan to read more Unger.

I have the book on hold at the library wanting to read

(view spoiler)[Lana took what I think would be pretty heavy medication and mentioned she gave people the impression of being 'flat' and unemotional, but yet she was keenly observant, paranoid, always on guard, every answer she gave was measured.
Did that seem inconsistent? I don't know, but interested in any thoughts. (hide spoiler)]

And for someone that was suppose to be highly intelligent she was easily duped and the whole is she as transgender and if not why be Lana, and for a normally paranoid person why wasn't she paranoid about the the people tricking her.(view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

This is a fantastic book. The twists and turns are well written and the timing is good too. I'm nearly finished and finding it hard to put down

I'm enjoying reading this book, trying to figure out who dunnit.

All finished and very impressed. I loved all the insights into the minds of people who maybe different from 'the norm' and although I guessed about 75% of the whodunit bit, there were other aspects keeping me hooked right to the end v

On chapter 27; correct on one theory, reading madly to see if second theory pans out. What a good story!

This book is superb. I thoroughly enjoyed finding out all of Lana's secrets. Five stars.

Excellent story! I was drawn in and kept in a state of intrigue by the switching between the diary and present day story. I did correctly solve all the secrets before the end, but wasn't 100% sure until they were revealed. Definitely reading this author again!

Loved the last line.

This is a hit. The whole web of crazy, and the fact that she was able to keep it all together in the end, deserves some applause. I have to admit, I did see some of it coming, but I didn't see most of it, especially the twists that came at the end.

I was a little unconvinced with Luke's character, but I think Unger does a great job clarifying that in one little section about 3 / 4 of the way through. The diary sections did get on my nerves from time to time, but what the hey, it's a great book!

I will definitely be reading more from Lisa Unger.

This was a splendidly twisted book that kept me galloping through, eagerly swallowing great chunks of the novel at once. What did I love so much? It had the element of surprise, and that doesn't happen so much anymore in many novels.
