Ter'e Crow Lindsay (terecrow) | 798 comments Had the OPEN HOUSE yesterday......cleaned solid for 2 days and we keep a CLEAN house normally. Whew...are we dead. Then last night...."the fluish crap" hit. Thats flu-ish.......ugh. Been dead. Today stayed in the bed and bathroom all day. Yes, my tummy is not doing good. Thank God for Ginger Ale.
Anyhow.......today I got a book in the mail. "The Killer" by Tom Wood. Looks great.
Am thankful I have such wonderful dogs. They stayed at my side all day long.

Ter'e Crow Lindsay (terecrow) | 798 comments Hey Sandra.....
The Open House went pretty well...........considering The Bucs had a game!!!! Everyone said really positive things about the house. Loved everything about it.
Our price is above some in the neighborhood, as we have done several things to it since we purchased it. We really love the house.......but it's just a house. My kids are in Kansas City. I want a home again.
We are watching for that right person to walk thru the door ---- money in hand!!!!

I am a human being again........I think total exhaustion just kicked my butt. Ohhhhhhhh bad pun...........am alive, just going at a little slower pace today.

message 611: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) My pre-order Martyr (John Shakespeare, #1) by Rory Clements arrived today and I downloaded Playing With Poison (Cue Ball Mysteries, #1) by Cindy Blackburn for FREE yesterday.

I bought the Audible Daily Deal - A Share in Death (Duncan Kincaid & Gemma James, #1) by Deborah Crombie - for $2.95 this morning.

Today is LIBRARY day, so I should pick up some books.

Ter'e Crow Lindsay (terecrow) | 798 comments OK, here is a question for the really smart ones.......
I just bought "The Killer" by Tom Wood. When I do a search, it does not come up. However........The Hunter does. It is Book#1 about Victor. the book looks awesome!!!!
Was the title changed?????? It does say it was orig published in 2010 and the publish date for The Hunter is 2011.........orig published in 2010. Did the author have to change the name of this book????
Who's in the know?????
TIA

message 613: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) Try plugging in the ISBN. Also, sometimes they mention in the book details of previous titles. Sometimes, American publishers insist on changing titles.

message 614: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) Or google author and title. Good Reads in some ways depends on us.

message 615: by Deborah (new)

Deborah Titles are different in the states. I have The Hunter, The Enemy and The Game. Better off dead released here in UK November and this month in the states

Book titles are very often changed for different markets/territories. It happens quite a lot. Different jackets too for different territories. It's down to the publishers, not the authors and what they think will work best in that country.

It's so sad to see these small book stores going out of business. Gigantic Indigo book stores make me uncomfortable. It's not the same experience as roaming around the shelves of an independent and chatting with the owner. You did get a great deal. I've read a couple of those. Enjoy!

Ter'e Crow Lindsay (terecrow) | 798 comments I love the old bookstores that the floors creak. I do not "do" the highly polished bookstores with new books. I will buy one at Sam's now and then. I prefer to be frugal and recycle. When I cast a book off........I know.....4-5 more people will read it, just in my circle! Now that is a good feeling.

message 633: by Marian (new)

Marian | 462 comments I agree, and the floor boards really do creak in his store:)But me Tere,I keep all my books..Love to see them on my own shelves..then I will read a lot during the winter months.

message 634: by Ter'e (new)

Ter'e Crow Lindsay (terecrow) | 798 comments Marian.....I keep alot of my books. ALOT. My realtor told me to pack up some of my books for the house pictures. I did. But..........removing all the books removes part of my look. We have a small library as you come in the front door. And then I have a loft......full of books on bright red shelving. I share alot of them tho....... I figure if a non-reader did not like my decor.........they would not be happy in this house anyhow!!!!!

Hi David,
I guess you can tell I love to read...and every time I turn around someone mentions a new book or new author that is amazing and I go and check it out. I have wanted to read Before I Go To Sleepfor a long time , and just went ahead and got it. I also read 2 of the Linda Castillo's books (that I won on Goodreads) and was very impressed with the writing, I wanted to read her other books.

Now I just have to sit down...and go on strike so I can read full time!

Ter'e Crow Lindsay (terecrow) | 798 comments I am so OCD........so orderly........but sometimes, frugal. So sometimes I will read what I have on hand......rather than go shopping for more books.
Still.......that doesn't seem to stop me from buying more and more books as people talk about what they are reading.
