i haven't read any of those, but Hugh Howey deserves a read. he is an icon for independent authors like me.

message 706: by Rhian (new)

Rhian (rhianlovesbooksx1f4d6) Well I picked wool up because I see it mentioned a lot and for 50p I couldn't leave it behind, and creep is a title that will instantly grab my attention, I don't know when I'll get to read them I'm buying way too many books lately

message 707: by Rhian (new)

Rhian (rhianlovesbooksx1f4d6) oh and thanks for your replies guys

These are the ones I have read from your list:
Human Remains 4 stars - very dark and different
Creep 4 stars - very fast read
The Reversal 5 stars - this is actually book number 16 in Connelly's Harry Bosch series, it was actually one of my favorites in the series. You could actually read it without reading the others, unless you are like me and Christine who have to read series in order.

Dawn G | 692 comments I just bought Belinda Bauer's Finders Keepers and Rubbernecker. My library does not have these two.

message 712: by Rhian (new)

Rhian (rhianlovesbooksx1f4d6) Thanks for your comment Dawn, I think I'll read the connely as a stand alone as I'm reading quite a few series and have read a few of his books out of order already

Sandysbookaday (taking a midwinter break) (sandyj21) | 5101 comments Well done Sean, a man after my own heart! 8:D
I had to take my car in for new tyres the other day and was very well behaved, buying only 5 books at the charity shop along the road.

message 727: by Sue (new)

Sue (coccotoro) | 2087 comments No, even I haven't been that bad. I think the most I got was 20 in 1 week...but I tend to get books every week, as soon as you keep giving recommendations. That isn't all the Kindle purchases either.

When I purchased the 20 books, 15 were Hard Case Crime books various authors, 3 were Westerns from Peter Brandvold, 1 from Frank Leslie and 1 from Jory Sherman. That was all luck, since if they didn't have HCC books, would only have had the five Westerns and had been looking for them.
