Ter'e Crow Lindsay (terecrow) | 798 comments My local GW bookstore did not have the sequel to "The Innocent"..........by David Baldacci. I tried to get it from Amazon.........no cheap, cheap copies. As a last result, I tried Ebay........and bought it from an Indiana GW for $4.24, including shipping.
Dang, I love a bargain.

Ty Patterson | 401 comments You should really switch to reading on a device. Not only do you read faster, it's easier to buy, but also you can 'borrow' on schemes such as Amazon Prime, or Overdrive or even lend to one another.

You will positively love Karin's books, but you really should consider reading them in order. They really begin with the Grant County series.

Ter'e Crow Lindsay (terecrow) | 798 comments I throw a little hissy fit now and then. Today must be my day!!! I am thrashing and cussing at the moment, but I shall calm down and ask a question.
Does it p.............ah............aggravate you when you buy a book, only to take it home and find that you have bought the book before???? This agravates me to no end!
Why do the publishers come out with different covers for the same book??? Is it to just make us think we have not bought the book before????

Today I decided to better organize my bookshelves, only to find I have duplicates of the same book. GRRRRR.

I have to say, I did find some great books tucked back in the corners of the shelves!!!! I had forgotten how much I enjoyed certain authors as I have not seen any of their books for awhile. Like Alex Kava. William J. Coughlin. Erica Spindler (I have 3 of her books and have never read one of them yet). The same with Tammy Hoag. I have a few books - have never read the first one yet.

I need to read faster. In the meantime, I have filled a nice bag to go back to the Goodwill, as I know my tastes have changed and I will never read them. I was hoping to find some more David Baldacci books on my shelves. As it is, I did find 3!

What is worse is when they rename the book and not only rename but abridge it as well. Perfect example is a wonderful, wonderful book called 'Karoo Plainsong' renamed 'The Housemaid's Daughter' and is probably only 66% of the original. Feel that I have to read The Housemaid's Daughter to see what was left out! It was brilliant as it was. My only complaint is that from beginning to end they mis-spelled the name Siobhan spelling it Siobahn! (ugh).

Ter'e Crow Lindsay (terecrow) | 798 comments The Book Fairy left packages on my porch today.
Undercurramts by Ridley Pearson and Baldacci's The Hit!
He also left me a nice fat pkg of hand dyed wool........every nice girl in FL needs some wool!!!!
HA!!!! I am a primitive rug hooker.
I have so many great books to read, I don't know what to do. You can bet, I will not be hooking tonight.
Dips!!!! Not a word from you!!!!!

WHAT???

message 88: by Ter'e (new)

Ter'e Crow Lindsay (terecrow) | 798 comments Lorrea,
I hook primitive wool rugs. I recycle alot of wool clothing, dye it, strip it and hook it into rugs. I'll post a rug on my profile. Most of what I do is folk art. I don't sell. These will be gifts for my kids one day.
Buying wool in Florida is non-existant. I shop second hand shops and order wool online. So, when I get pkgs of wool in the mail ---- I do the happy dance!!!!

message 96: by Kerry (new)

Kerry Hunter (kerryelizabeth) I go away for a few days and we have some illegal professions, flirting and downright scandal ;) Incorrigible! Thanks for the belated birthday wishes, and sorry to hear about your diabetes, Sean. I'm still newly diagnosed (only a year now) so am still trying to get everything under control and my hba1c down, but am slowly getting there :3

And I have no time to buy your body for the illegal purposes. I have thing to do and books to read! So I'll just take the pancreas for now ;)

On topic...ish. No new books bought by me today but finally managed to go to the tiny local library and sort out a library card, so although I won't get to keep the books, at least I'll get to read them :)

Dipanjan | 314 comments @ Kerry - We had NO IDEA that you were gone for a few days. We initiated the illegal profession, flirting and downright scandal assuming we have an awesome lawyer like you covering our backs. (And belated happy birthday to you).

Also it's Happy Hours now. Along with the pancreas you are eligible for "buy 1 get 1 free" offer.

Ter'e Crow Lindsay (terecrow) | 798 comments I am so excited. I just bought Kerry's "The Axeman's Jazz" for $1.00 on Ebay! What terrific reviews!!!! I must put down the magazines. I got 3 more in yesterdays mail. What's up with that?

message 100: by Dipanjan (new)

Dipanjan | 314 comments @ Kerry - You are treasured. My next mission is to pull down the pants of a politician while he is making tall promises. WILL need legal safety net.

@ Ter'e - Question. Are those 3 magazines the SAME editions? Since you have a track record of that.
