Just downloaded

Black Flowers after reading Sean's great review.

Look forward to it!

Are you telling me that you don't trust Janet, Sean? Isn't she the one who got you out of jail?

Christine (clt04) | 4838 comments It is weird, as I have gotten books from the UK in like a week or 10 days before. I am not using that bookseller (was used thru Amazon) anymore.

Janet can't be spot on all the time. After all, doesn't she dislike Tolkien?

??? When did I ever say I'm spot on?!! My taste is my taste! Err isn't everyone's?!! And no I tried The Hobbit three times bored me something chronic but the movies have been ok. LOTR was better.

message 1318: by Patricia (new)

Patricia | 1266 comments British is best. Takes too long for the US to publish these. I just order from the UK.

message 1319: by Sue (new)

Sue (coccotoro) | 2087 comments Did you order through book depository Pat?

message 1320: by Patricia (new)

Patricia | 1266 comments Sue wrote: "Did you order through book depository Pat?"

Yes. I like to use them. Free international shipping, I usually get the books in a week. Order direct from them not through Amazon. Amazon charges more.

message 1321: by Sue (new)

Sue (coccotoro) | 2087 comments I just checked out 4 of these books through Amazon, and then through The Book Depository in Amazon, and the items total $28 plus $26 shipping and handling? I am going to go directly into The Book Depository site, and check it out. Thanks Pat.

message 1322: by Patricia (new)

Patricia | 1266 comments Yes. Amazon charges $3.99 shipping if ordering to book depository. If you go to book depository direct website, shipping is free.

message 1323: by Autumn (new)

Autumn (autumnmemory80) I just purchased all the Outlander series books. I cannot wait to dig into these!

message 1324: by Sue (new)

Sue (coccotoro) | 2087 comments Thanks Pat. Ordering those 3 excluding A killing Winter right now.

Sandysbookaday (taking a midwinter break) (sandyj21) | 5101 comments Thanks for the heads up about the Book Depository Pat, I will be taking a closer look at them. Have not used them before. But Amazon's freight to NZ is astronomical. 8:D

Free and cheap e-books available on Bookbub.com - it's worth checking them out. I usually get one or two a week from them. 8:D

message 1326: by Autumn (new)

Autumn (autumnmemory80) Also a great site is thriftbooks.com. Typically, the price of the book includes the shipping as well. They also offer discounts for purchasing from the same seller.

message 1327: by Sue (last edited Mar 20, 2015 05:54PM) (new)

Sue (coccotoro) | 2087 comments Pat & Sandy. I just compared a list of books I was going to order from Amazon, available only through The Book Depository, and the shipping costs are another $6.48 on top of each book. Turned out if I ordered through Amazon, my items were $26 with $25 shipping and handling. I then went into the direct site for The Book Depository, as I am interested in a lot of the books from UK. The direct site for The Book Depository has NO shipping costs world wide. When I compared the price for the same items in Amazon, The Book Depository was $8 cheaper, and is sent in 2 days. I went ahead and ordered 5 books. I have bought:

I Let You Go

Pop Goes the Weasel (Helen Grace,#2).

The Edge of Normal

Never Look Back

No Place to Die

The only expensive item was I Let You Go but I really want to read this one.

Thank Pat.

Sue (coccotoro) | 2087 comments I also use BookBub (reduced prices or free) and Story Cartel (free) but am selective what I choose.

Now, if I could just rustle up some time ...... !!
