Let me know what you think of him, I will let you know which one of his I read that I thoroughly loved.

And lol..I think I went a little crazy but it's been a while since I bought myself any books and I had to justify the new shelf that was only half filled with what I already owned . I thought it looked quite morose and I feel it is criminal to have a half empty bookshelf.

Christine (clt04) | 4838 comments HAHA, Hannah, I love the way you think!
Yes, I'd be interested in which O'Brien you loved. He has so many that look good!

Whether or not you like these may depend on if you like books in the dystopian genre. I find them hit-or-miss. The Hunger Games, Ready Player One and Station Eleven were great but the two Divergent books that I read won't make it onto my favorites list. I know you've been reading a lot of Stephen King lately. You may want to tryThe Stand if you like post-apocalyptic stuff.

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 1127 comments Great book, The Stand, one of my favourite reads.

Yeah, I must pick that back up one day.

message 1386: by Aymen (new)

Aymen Ben cheikh Thank you Tom, you re right i want to read "the Hunger Games" (i saw the first movie) and i want to read "the Stand" all my friends say it s an amazing. I ll check the other two books you mentioned right now, thanks :)

Another one that I neglected to mention that I didn't care for was The Maze Runner series. Some people like it but I'm not one of them.

Warning: Ready Player One, which is also being made into a movie, relies heavily on the readers' familiarity of 1980s pop/geek culture icons. If you like John Hughes movies and Atari computer and role-playing games, you'll love it. If not, you might miss a lot of the references.

message 1388: by Aymen (new)

Aymen Ben cheikh Ready player one might be hard for me , i ll see the Maze Runner. Did you read "the Long Walk" by Stephen King?

I haven't read that one.

message 1390: by Aymen (new)

Aymen Ben cheikh It s a great book about teenagers who participate to a competition, they have to walk until all of them fall down, exept one who can ask for anything he wants. It really psychological and made me think a lot.

Interesting concept. Kind of like the dance marathons they had during the Great Depression. A good book (and movie) about those is They Shoot Horses, Don't They?.

message 1392: by Aymen (new)

Aymen Ben cheikh Yes it is close, "they shoot horses don t they?", interesting i love this kind of books.

message 1393: by Aymen (new)

Aymen Ben cheikh I found "they shoot horses don t they" and "the Maze Runner" online, thanks Tom

Mostly print, Chris. I get them at the library, but have bought two recently. I don't usually buy print books, because I don't hang onto them (I did that years ago and learned my lesson when we moved). I am also accumulating an ebook library, some purchased, some free. Why do you ask?
