I've just downloaded a Graham Masterton book. It's the Kate Maguire series and it's book four, Taken For Dead. Currently 19p on Amazon. I have books one and two and they seem to be popular. Not read any yet but know I bought all really cheaply. Anyone else read these books, familiar with them?

Have you guys ever been to the strand.com? They have new and used books at pretty reasonable prices. It is brick and mortar The Strand in NYC, and the advertise 18 miles of books. That would fill my shelves.

If you read the Shining from left to right and the Arabic book from right to left then they should cancel each other out and it will take no time at all to read them, n'est c'est pas?

message 1422: by DianeAlice (new)

DianeAlice | 142 comments I bought the 19p book too lol. It's book 4 in the series but I might read a chapter or two to see if I want to get the earlier ones.

message 1423: by Aymen (new)

I really liked "City of Bones" - it's hard to go wrong with Connelly's Harry Bosch.

Ah, my man Jeeves. Now there is some good old English comedy.

Best

The Killing Season by Mason Cross

The Samaritan by Mason Cross

Who I am glad to say is a member of only one group on Good Reads, yes you have guessed it " A Good Thriller"

message 1441: by Aymen (new)

Aymen Ben cheikh I have just bought 2 books, i decided not to buy a Stephen King's book, i picked "No Way Home" by Patricia MacDonald, and "Train d'enfer pour Ange rouge / Deuils de Miel" by Franck Thilliez (French Author). Two amazing authors, i can't wait to read these books, but i still have to finish the "Talisman" by Stephen King. And i wanted to ask , do you recommend a Nora Roberts book? A romantic thriller if she wrote some :)

message 1442: by Marian (new)

Marian | 462 comments The Collector and High Noon come to mind Aymen:)Maybe Blood Brothers by Nora Roberts as well.

message 1443: by Aymen (new)

Aymen Ben cheikh Thank you Marian :)

message 1444: by Marian (new)

Marian | 462 comments Oh,and by the way Aymen..her Blood Brother book is book #1..sorry I forgot to mention that.

message 1445: by Aymen (new)

Aymen Ben cheikh Yes i just saw that when i added it to my to read list, it would be good to start with this one i think.

message 1446: by Aymen (new)

Aymen Ben cheikh Did anyone read Harry Potter? I like fantasy but it has to be a bit dark and scary, so what do you think? Should i start reading the series.?

message 1447: by Tom (new)

Tom Mathews | 671 comments Aymen wrote: "Did anyone read Harry Potter? I like fantasy but it has to be a bit dark and scary, so what do you think? Should i start reading the series.?"

I think a few people read them ;>). I enjoyed them but they are written for younger audiences. While they got darker as they progressed they never got to what I would classify as dark fantasy by adult standards. That said, I suggest you read the first one and see if you like it.

message 1448: by Marian (new)

Marian | 462 comments I agree with Tom Aymen. We have all 7 books but you might like them..who knows..right?Have you seen any of the movies?

message 1449: by Aymen (new)

Aymen Ben cheikh Thanks Tom, i know so many people read Harry Potter and saw the movies, i m not sure if i m going to like it,or not ! i think i have the first one on my tablet i ll read some pages and see. But sometimes when the story is really interesting and the book well written i can enjoy something different.

message 1450: by Aymen (new)

Aymen Ben cheikh No Marian, when i hear the a book is really good, i stay away from the movies until i read them, i ll try to read the first one and let you know how it goes.
