I watched all the Harry Potter movies, Aymen, and i'm reading the serie this year, i got to the 4th book and it's good!!
The thing is that with every book the story gets better, i like this one more than the two first books!
So, i think reading only a bit of the first book won't be enough ;)

Each book in the series, does reach a satisfactory conclusion, though. Kind of one individual story within each book, with an overarching story that runs the entire series. I have them all on my shelf :~)

I think you should start with the lord of the rings (only 3 parts LOL), i liked it better than the movies and found it very interesting :)

That's great Aymen :D i hope you'll like them :)

You're right John!! I'm reading the whole serie of Harry Potter now, my goal for 2015. i'm almost done with the fourth and i LOVE it!!! far better than the movie, especially this part :)

The Black Road by Tania Carver
And
The Bone Tree by Greg Iles.
Will read The Iles book as we drive to KC next month.
I've just downloaded a debut called Lullaby Girl by Aly Sidgwick. Supposed to be really good. Only 49p.

Really happy about them :D

So, now that I've had an eye test (my first ever!!), I've been told this old crinkly needs reading glasses! Man alive.... will I ever get used to them?!! They feel so weird!! Anyways, this means I can now read 'real' books, so I had a bit of a book haul yesterday!
Got the following:-
The Surgeon
The Apprentice
Snow White Must Die
And a couple of none crime ones
The Storyteller
Songs of the Humpback Whale
All discount bookstore finds! Now I can read some of my gifts too off my bookshelf.

I cannot believe you have NEVER had an eye test before, Janet. I've
probably had over 60 of them...

Totally true, in fact I was expecting something kind of horrible outcome because I've always known my right eye wasn't quite right. It turns out the lens when being formed at birth (or before) isn't quite straight, there's a slight curve so it affects vision. Either that or my optician was lying to me! Not a lack of vision just a slight defect that I was born with. Have just got old age deteoriation which happens to be the best of us I suppose. I guess I did well to last this long. Distance is fine, it is just reading, couldn't read the tiny print on jars and stuff. So now when I put them on I look up and everything is a blur ... lol ... it's weird. I tried to choose trendy designer frames.... possibly failed miserably. They feel so alien!

Yep, I bet they feel alien, but truly, you will get used to them. Do they make a big difference for you?
I can see distance fine, in detail. Just struggled with tiny, fine print so they are just for reading books, doing paperwork, that type of thing. Don't really need them for devices, computer etc, because fonts can be made bigger! Oh the irony. It does bug me how in books, especially paperback typefaces seem to be getting smaller and smaller. Don't think I'll ever prefer actual books to a Kindle again. They're so much easier to hold and comfortable on the eyes.

I have been buying more print books since learning from the news that backlight on devices can cause sleep problems - can't get to sleep because the brain thinks it's still daytime. I have struggled with this in the past few years - huh, I wonder if that's the problem???
There could be something in that, Pat. But then it could be that people are just automatically more drawn to them than ever before. Wherever you go now people are on devices of some description everywhere. Borders on the ridiculous really.
