Aymen Ben cheikh So I took my mom to the mall, and I thought: there is a bookstore here, and I m waiting for my mom anyway... So I went home with "Bag of Bones" by Stephen King because the movie trailer was really intriguing and because it s Stephen King! , and "Treasure Island" by Stevenson. I picked the second one because I used to watch the cartoon when I was a kid and it was amazing , I want to live the experience again.

Wow! That was a pretty good trade! I hope your dad wasn't too upset. ;>)

Aymen Ben cheikh Lol Jean I wouldn't trade my mom for nothing in this world, I would stop reading if she ask me to (crazy right?)

If that happened I would know it wasn't really my mom. She's the one who turned me on to Shakespeare and even Giovanni Boccaccio.

message 1807: by Aymen (new)

Aymen Ben cheikh Your mother did great Tom by sharing her love of reading with you. For me my father was the reader in the family, we read the same books sometimes.

message 1810: by Tammy (new)

Tammy | 1 comments I purchased Orphan X last week and regret buying it digitally. At least I could give away a physical book, or donate/sell it. I've tried getting into it but (to me!) it's annoying. It's like reading a screenplay: "he walked around the table", "he held the door open". Even the scene components are laid out as if you're watching from the audience. Actions are placed jarringly in different places/areas without transitions/flow, as if the curtain should fall and be lifted to another set. I feel halted at every sentence.
I'm going to keep trying at it, since I paid for it, but I don't know if I'll make it through. :-/

So, instead, I'm reading "Deadly Messengers" for our group!

Lisa (ylisa7) | 381 comments I have done really well. I downloaded two books that I have been waiting for to go on sale:

Finding Laura Buggs
Eat, Pray, Love

Reading one Patterson won't kill you but his books are so formulaic that if you have read one, you may as well have read them all.

I downloaded this earlier today. I got in on high recommendation from a good friend. Sounds like a very hard hitting read but it got me intrigued. I'm going to exercise caution because I may end up hating it.

since I am still the last poster, I am adding: Lie In Wait and Shark Attacks: Terrifying True Accounts Of Shark Attacks Worldwide I bought the latter because it was cheap sitting out there by the register when I was in line at Walmart. I always like to read about animal attacks and survivors and not.

Aymen Ben cheikh today I bought "Dr Sleep" by Stephen King, I can't wait to read it and see how Dany grew up as an adult, and if he has things in common with his father Jack Torrance. I like the fact that there are 40 years between the two books, more than my age.
