How many FREE or $0.99 ebooks do you buy but never read?

Probably 75% of what's on my Kindle are either free or $0.99 and I have a huge reading list to get too.
I generally wait until published authors' books go on sale, which they invariably do, even if only for a day. A lot promote on Twitter and are supportive of one another so it usually catches my attention one way or another.

Marian, Body Double is probably my second favorite Rizzoli and Isles book. Plus, I liked what Isles family/past is in the book series rather than what it is in the show. I hope you enjoy it.

I 'buy' a free book everyday. My goal this year was to switch back and forth between those and my other books, but joining this group has ruined that for me as there have been so many great recommendations. Maybe next year I will do better.

Do you expect to read all the free/cheap ones? Or do you think you'll read 50% or less?
Peace, Seeley

Does that mean you'll read all of them?

Exactly the point I'm wondering about. There are many great books out there between free and cheap, we tend to download them with the intent to read, but do we over-download? Are our eyes too big for the available hours to read?

I'm sure I'll get to the majority of them, especially the ones that are part of series or the ones that are promotional priced by authors. I'm also quicker at deleting bad ones, than if I'm reading a paperback or ebook that costs more.

Yes, I hope so. These authors are credible published writers, books you'll see on shelves. Their books average around the £5 mark on kindle. Some a lot more, but like I said most will have a promotion on at some point. From what I understand, and correct me if I'm wrong, but they make they same percentage even during promotional periods. Just shift a lot more copies! I don't sit and wait for books to come on sale, they just seem to present themselves to me!! I get a fair few ARC's too.

Most definitely my eyes are bigger than my available read time. I do it all the time though. I just bought The Book Thief which is 500 pages and then when I went to the library the other day and picked up 2 more both about 400 pages long. I'm obsessed I admit and I hope to read them all some day. I know if I am ever stuck some where for hours, I have 1700+ books on my kindle I can read. *sad fact* I keep a kindle charger in my purse.

Glad I'm not the only one. I have over 2,000 on mine, carry a charger with me for at work, and even have a charger for my car.
Two weeks off work, and I have not been into our town the whole time, today I weakened, and went in with my wife and went to four charity shops

Rnjoy your books Sean:)Which one are you going to read first?
I'm trying to show great restraint and excellent self-discipline to NOT buy any more books, unless they are a new installment in a series that I read, or a new Stephen King, until I'm caught up on reading all of the books that I have bought and not read. So far, so good. It is so terribly hard for me to walk past a bargain bin without looking, but I did so just yesterday. It was a proud moment for me.
I've just bought Long Way Home. A debut from Eva Dolan, the start of a new set of detectives. Ebook and paperbook is on promotion at the moment. I need to learn the art of restraint.
Marian, they fill up my bookshelf, then I spend ages looking through all the books to see want I am reading next, which takes a while when you have over 800 books.

Hey Ter'e, good to see one more person has discovered Baldacci. I absolutely love his books and I have read at least 75% of all his books; good thing for me is that he writes 2 to 3 novels every year!
I see there are a lot of Baldacci fans in this group and it has been a pleasure with interacting with them.

I have read every book he has written....I buy them hot off the press as soon as they become available. That's how much I enjoy his books.
Please....give him a try. Don't look at the books and think they are too manly or too military.......they are past DELICIOUS!!!!!!!
Don't blame me Te're.... LOL
I am Innocent (that reminds of a good book)
I feeling i am The Target......
Don't make me The Hit....
