Oh the pressure Sean!! Not big on David Baldacci, gave up on Brian Freeman's "Stripped", but definitely going to read "The Bone House", Can't recall any Kernick or Barclay - but will look out for them, Have read most of Harlan Coben, a few Lisa Gardner (I blow hot and cold on her), have read quite a few Karin Slaughter (have you tried Karen Rose?) and Jeff Abbott and Andrew Gross......

Went to the charity shop myself today Sean to drop off a book - and collected 3 more....Secrets & Shadows by Mary Nickson, "The Same Sweet Girls" by Cassandra King, and "Twisted" by Jonathon Kellerman. So much for trying to reduce the number of physical books I have now that I have a Kindle!!

Is 'Twisted' a stand alone thriller? I've read a couple if Jesse Kellerman books and would love to start on his parents novels but so many seen to be in a series , the ones I've picked up in charity shops anyway

I have quite a stock Of Karen Rose, not read any YET !!

I've bought the 2 you recommended on amazon market place and have 6 Karen Rose ready to go to. But after I read my August book pal choice and The Bone House I have to read The Target then Inside Man. Baldacci has a john puller novel out in November too I'm looking forward too.
Charity shop buys for me this week have been Robert Crais and Harlan Coben. So thankful my sister has a one year old and therefore a buggy to carry my weekly book hauls!!

"The Night Season" arrived in my mailbox today. This is book 4 in the Chelsea Cain series.
Books 2 and 3 are floating around in our postal system!
I see there are six books in the series --- and yes Christine, I will read them in order.

Also loaded "The Ghost Man" on my Kindle.

So many luscious things to read!!!!! But "Cop Town" is next.

I am gathering the books I want to read.......IN ORDER..........as Darling Christine tells me. I stopped at our new Goodwill again and headed for the books. I found Liisa Gardner's Catch Me and Baldacci's The Sixth Man. Two great books, I am sure. Can't wait to read these too. I am still plugging along with my Crais book and loving every word. What a fabulous read. I am a Crais girl now.

I also stopped at Sam's and saw that the new W.E.B. Griffin book is out. I was good. Didn't buy it. Remember HE, without a doubt, is my very FAV author. I have too many books lined up.......I can wait on the Griffin book.

So many books.......so little time!

the Kellermans are pretty unique. they are the only thriller writing family that i know of. father, mother and son - all three of them, write thrillers.

that is if we are talking of the same Kellermans - Jonathan Kellerman, Faye Kellerman and Jesse Kellerman.

For me...........the Kellerman books seemed to melt into one another. There wasn't enough zip.

Yes, in a way: the past six novels by J. Kellerman seem to follow a trend: Delaware and Milo---I never read the same author back-to-back. I leave space in between.

My pre-ordered copy of Four: A Divergent Story Collection just got delivered today. Haven't felt so excited about a new book since Harry Potter, will start it on the weekend probably.

Man, that's what I need to be doing. And soon too. Red Tide is heading our way and I just hate seeing all the dead fish.

I love the sand, the waves, the surf, the Caribbean colors..........I do love Florida beaches. MMMMMM a Pina Colada would not be bad either.

I just signed up for a 30-day free trial of Kindle Unlimited at Amazon. It's really cool, though I don't expect to remain a paying member ($10 a month) for more than a month or two. Has anybody else signed on, and what do you think of it?

I should add that you can't get newer books free, and several of the older ones I want aren't on the list either. Still, I've already downloaded 8 books I've been wanting. The biggest catch is that if you let your membership expire, all the books you've downloaded are removed.

I came across a few books today by, or about Raymond Chandler i wasn't previously aware of & one by Horace McCoy:

1. 'Red Wind: A Collection of Short Stories'. Red Wind is thought by many to be Chandler's best short story.

2. 'Killer in the Rain' (pre-Marlowe). The emergence of the character who would become Marlowe.

3. 'Collected Stories' - Apparently a collection of Chandler's early short stories, which appeared in such publications as Black Mask & other similar publications.

4. 'A Collection of Chandler's Letters' - collected & edited by Tom Hiney & Frank MacShane.

I've been looking for earlier works by Chandler to give me an insight into the development of his art. I think the collection above may provide that insight or at least an inkling.

PS: I also came across a hard-boiled noir classic, 'Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye' by Horace McCoy.

I would be interested to read opinions by anyone who has read any of the above.

Liked the first few Cornwell books, but got to 'Blow Fly' & gave up. Her romantic interest just seemed to slow her stories down to the point where i just lost interest.

I've got several books by Billingham Sean, including 'Scaredy Cat', though i've not got round to reading them yet. They are on my TBR list however.
