J.F. Garrard (jfgarrard) | 29 comments Hi,

I'm waiting for CIP (Cataloging in Publication) before I upload my first book.

Meanwhile, I was wondering about author pages on different sites.

For people that use aggregate distribution site such as Smashwords or Ingram - do you get an author page on Kobo or Nook?

I guess my question is, although you use another distributor to sell on Kobo/Nook, can you still set up an author page?

Or should I opt out and sell directly through Kobo/Nook?

Thanks!

Ken (kendoyle) | 347 comments I used Draft2Digital (instead of Smashwords) for Kobo, Nook, and iTunes. The author pages on those sites are simply a collection of books based on the author's name.

I don't know that you'd get anything different if you went direct. For me, sales on Amazon far outweigh all the other platforms combined, so I really haven't put much effort into those channels.

Mercia McMahon (merciamcmahon) If you use Smashwords your Smashwords profile appears on B&N/Nook at the bottom of your book page as About the Author. I cannot speak for Kobo as they have never posted my book (probably too short for them). No other retailers post the Smashwords profile.
