The Practical Guide to Happiness: If You Don’t Like How You’re Feeling, Think Again takes an unusual fiction/nonfiction approach to the topic of happiness by addressing the topic through highly-relatable fictional stories.

The first half of the book demonstrates how thinking impacts life satisfaction through stories of characters, with identical life circumstances, who have very different levels of happiness based on how they think. The stories cover eight of America’s most common unsatisfied desires: “If I were rich I would be happy”, “If I were thin I would be happy”, etc..

The second half of the book shows a reader how to change the way they think about their life and circumstances. It outlines specific steps and strategies a reader can use to change the way they think and perceive the world and thereby increase their happiness.
