hi my name is Allison I enjoy reading all kinds of books. I love history. I think my favourite times would have to ancient Rome. actually I just love it all and I enjoy learning new things about history.

Hi! It's Mich NovElle here, joining in the club. I have been an avid history buff for most of my life. My interest in history bleeds over into historical fiction. My main area of interest is Great Britain from 1914-1945. I had the opportunity to live in England during a study-abroad semester in college and would go back there in a heartbeat. (Actually, I like reading about all of Europe during that period.) I look forward to connecting with other history enthusiasts.

Hello, I'll go by one of my nom de plumes, Rhedyn, in the discussions. I'm an extreme bibliophile, and also enjoy writing. I'm a Texan, have an extreme addiction to chickens (as pets,) and a student, so I may or may not have time to participate in everything. My favorite books are History, Historical Fiction, Biography, and the Classics. I especially love books set during the French Revolution, as this chaotic event allows us to see more about the character(s) than any other. My favorite book, currently, is by . Hi Everyone, My name is Sola. I’m an advertising practitioner and an innovation enthusiast. I love history because it's a window to a different world.
There is no Time Travel Machine (yet) for us to see what life and society were like for the human race back then. So we watch documentaries, research online etc.

This way, we explore and come to understand eras we were never part of. I have never been in a war zone before, but I have come to appreciate its dynamics.

History is an adventure that allows me explore different cultures and ideologies. I’m glad to meet so many like-minded people here.

My name is Anthony and I love history. My passions is the revolutionary war, and early colonial times. I also enjoy WW2 books I look forward to meeting everyone on here

Hello, fellow historical history buff. I've enjoyed history ever since I was a young boy. I read voraciously, often several books at once, depending on my mood. I appreciate the effort the author goes to in order to tell a fine story. I especially like Civil War history, which is the subject of my first published novel, though I really enjoy so many aspects of history.
1. I especially enjoy strong literary pieces and stories with a twist.
2. I think historical fiction is the best way to keep history alive beside reenactors. Students today are so distracted by technology, especially the addictive games. We need to do all we can to keep history alive.
Very best wishes to all in the club.

I hope to find some good reads from the posts of other readers. Any era is fine, but it should have some literary merit, pleas.

Hi - I am new to the group, joining to motivate myself to read more in areas that I find interesting and worthwhile. I am a homeschooling mom living in a small desert community in the United States. Knowing that "the more things change, the more things stay the same," I find enjoyment in reading about the past and biographies, although I confess to not reading a lot in this area. Knowing there is much to learn from others, as well as the past, I hope joining this group will help me in my desire to read - and learn - more of what there is to learn from a study of history.

Hi everyone! My real name is Axelle (but I like to go as Macha on social medias since she is one of my favourite character from the play The Three Sisters by Tchekhov but that is not my point). I am 20 years old and I come from baguetteland, also known as France. I love history and I actually studied it for one year at college. Hi, it's Susan, currently living in England but originally from Hungary. I love reading, always did, studied literature at university and recently I took up book blogging, and now I found Goodreads. I'm hoping to share and discover new books about history here. Some of my favourite historical periods are the Ancient Greeks, the British Empire (I wrote my master's thesis on the the subject of the role of cricket in the formation of the national identities within the empire - and very interesting topic it was too), the age of exploration, Spain and the Spanish empire, the Mediterranean... er, perhaps I should stop here. :) I just love history, okay? :)
