Leah Russell | 1 comments Has anyone ever helped students who have reading difficulties pass math classes? Any sugestions for activities or resources? Possible literature?

Samantha | 1 comments It is more about about the skills than the literature. The student it lacking the comprehension typically and may do well in certain areas and do poorly in other areas. Geometry may go right over their head, but they might totally get algebra, then you give them a word problem and they stare at you blankly. Start with the basics, see where the students has missing gaps in knowledge. Word problems = underlining key words. Bigger font. No more than three word problems to a page and show the student to draw pictures to help them through the problem. Use a highlighter. You have to find what works for the student.
