Brady Ross The book that I read is called A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson. You would think that this book is meant for girls, but I liked it. The book takes place in the early 1900's and is about a girl named Sara. She was born in India to an officer in the Indian army. Her mother, who is French, died giving birth to her so she was raised by her dad. He had lots of money so he spent lots of it on her. When she turned 11 she had to go away to boarding school because back then girls with lots of money had to do that. While she was there he became very sick and died. When he died she found out that he had lost all of his money and she became a servant at the boarding school. She was treated very badly by everyone, but the three girls that were her friends before all of this happened to her. She had a really good imagination, and that helped her to handle being treated so badly. While she was a servant in the house, a man moved in next door to the boarding school. He was a man from India. She got to know his servants and even spoke their language to them. Come to find out in the end of the book, the man was looking for her. He was a business man and friend of her father. He was looking for her because he thought that he had lost all of her father's money, but he didn't. Their business investment in the diamond mines made them lots of money, but her dad died before he could tell him. He ended up taking Sara from the boarding school and raising her as his own. He explained how sorry he was that he didn't tell her dad before he died, and gave her all the money that they had earned. She had her friend Becky come to live with her and she made sure that her other friends came to visit her. They stayed friends, and she helped others that were treated badly or hungry by giving money to the baker's shop in town to help those that needed food. I liked it because it shows that good things can happen to good people even when it doesn't look like it could get worse. One thing that was hard about this book was the writing. It was written in an early 1900's England English. It was hard to follow sometimes, and I even had to look up a couple of the words. The vocabulary was hard to read at times, and it made the reading slow sometimes. Other than that I liked it.
