Brandon Congdon In the book I am Number 4 John ( Number 4) has come to earth and is trying to blend in with everyone. The Mogadorian’s are creatures who destroyed John’s planet and have come to earth to eliminate the nine Garde Children that escaped, they have to be killed in order, the first 3 have been killed and Number 4 is next.
The main conflict of the book is the Mogadorian’s have come to earth to find and kill the remaining six of the Garde Children that escaped from the planet Lorien. John found a symbol on his leg that told him he would be the next to be killed. When he found out he was the target of the Mogodorian’s he had to destroy all of his stuff, and move to a different city and start a completely new life. When John started his new school he got into some trouble, so he quickly became well known in this school, which was a bad thing because if he was well known it would be easier for the Mogordian’s to know where he is.
When John first moves to Paradise, Ohio he is shy and quiet. When he starts school he is unsure of where to go and doesn’t have any friends. John is a good looking guy and starts to attract a lot of attention from the girls, which puts him in danger to be found by the Mogadorian’s. John is getting trained to fight against the Mogodorians by his Cepean. He has a strong work ethic and trains hard. He becomes a great fighter. He is determined to fight hard and stay alive as well as help his Cepean and number 6.
I like this story because it took me on an adventure through Paradise, Ohio and planet Lorien. The adventure was John having dreams of being on the planet Lorien when the Mogodorian’s were destroying it, or having a good time with his family and friends. Another adventure was John moving from place to place sharing his stories of how he has survived. I also like this story because it has some interesting violent parts that kept me wanting to read more. My favorite part of the book was when John was training to become a fighter. I loved his determination to stay alive!
