Sandy & Krissy - The Hobbit

I read this way back in 6th grade. I just saw the 3 Peter Jackson movies and I'm excited for the re-read!

I've never read this before but wanted to. So I'm excited. I plan on listening to the audiobook

Chapter 1

(view spoiler)[I think the movies are too fresh in my mind to fully appreciate the writing, which is a shame. Gandalf is surely the master manipulator! Thorin doesn't seem very "kingly" to me yet. I think having the films in mind helps to differentiate the dwarf characters better. (hide spoiler)]

I just listened to this last month and thought it was great! I hope you enjoy it!

I've never been really good at keeping characters straight in my head especially if I've been thrown many all at once. So right now I'm struggling with all the dwarf characters. And unfortunately I have not seen the movies so I'm going in the book blind. Right now I'm only at the goblin scene (view spoiler)[where they kidnapped them all after they fell asleep in the cave (hide spoiler)]

I'm at 71% and I plan on finishing it up tonight. I hate to say it but I'm just not getting into it as I thought I would.

I'm only on chapter 3. Sorry you're not liking it.

Finished. I'm really disappointed that I did not like this book more. But I still want to eventually read the LOR books. And I will say the narrator of the audiobook did a great job.
