I really want to know what's going on between Jericho and Marlowe! Who is this guy and why does Jericho have to meet him once a year? I'm not sure if I'm looking into it too much but there was a bit of emphasis on Marlowe telling Jericho to be "careful" and that he had to pretend that he was grateful for what Marlowe had done to him. This makes me think that maybe HE is a diviner and Marlowe has something to do with it? I don't even know if that's possible and it could be something much simpler, but I can't help but go back to the thought of what Jericho's back story could be.
Oh god the dinner with Evie, Jericho, and Mabel was so uncomfortable and awkward XD I want to know why Jericho is so rude to Mable, there has to be something more than her not being able to think for herself. I'm wondering if this could be a ship that actually sails or is it just a crush and maybe Mabel is going to find a new character in the coming chapters that she likes more?
At this point in the book, I feel like there's just way too many perspectives going on. I'm normally one to love books written from the third person perspective while also focusing on many different points of view, but The Diviners just feels excessive. I mean so far we have whoever the group of kids in the beginning were, Evie, Memphis, Sam, Mabel, Jericho, Will, the two people who were murdered so far, even Blind Bill and probably tons more. Even if it's just a paragraph, why do we need so many different perspectives? I just think Libba Bray is trying to include too many thoughts and backstories into one book when they're either unnecessary or could be brought up in a more organized way.
I really loved the chapter "The Hotsy Totsy." I just adore the idea of 20's clubs and follies and drinking and all that jazz haha. I really liked how Evie was talking about how much she loves her new friends and I even got excited when Evie went to dance with Sam. (I'm not sure if he's meant to be a love interest but I can't help but love their flirting and hope it turns into more). The scene where the cops came was exhilarating! It was super cool for Theta to meet Memphis, which means all of the characters are surely meeting soon!
I also can't believe Evie and Mabel got arrested! I love that a YA book is including topics like this. But I'm also so upset that Evie might have to leave NY and that Mabel and Evie fought. Clearly, Evie isn't actually going to leave but I'm still anxious to see what happens next!

Without saying too much, I remember feeling overwhelmed by the different perspectives and keeping track and started off feeling like it was a little much despite what I was loving about the book. However, I feel like by the end of it, as things started to come together, I was used to it and started to see the significance especially as fate sort of takes a hand in it. After finishing it, I almost feel like I have these little character maps in my head, so it stopped restricting my experience of it. It's difficult before they come together, but then once they do, at least for me, I felt like it got a lot easier ha.
SAM AND EVIE ARE MY FAVORITE! Despite his faults, Sam is so hard to dislike.

I am loving how frustrated evie is everytime she sees"Sam. LLOYD." Hahaha it makes me laugh every time. I'm not sure how I feel about them get. Do I like them together? I'm not sure. But I loved learning about sams power.
I'm glad mabel finally got mad at evie, I know I love evie but she is very selfish, even if Mabel does need to let her hair down sometimes too.
I love the scene where theta and Memphis meet!! The best pet of the books so far I think!
