This bi-week we will be rereading Robert Sheckley 1928-2005, and his novel Immortality, Inc.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, Immortality Inc. RS has a way of sucking you in with the quick pace and interesting, relevant concepts. Some older science fiction feels dated when reading it today. This book could have been written yesterday.
I also took the opportunity to read The Status Civilization. His pacing and unique satiric can be seen here as well.

It was a very quick read but original. I always wondered where Futurama got the idea for suicide booths. Some of the themes were harder to digest for me. It was hard for me to actually root for the Thomas Blaine. He wasn't a good guy. He was just a normal guy from the past trying to live in a future where his ideals were obsolete. Great story with a great ending that I didn't see coming.
