My 5 truths:
1. I teach reading intervention and love to get my struggling readers to be able to read. It's what I love most about my job.
2. I love the snow and snow days more than most school-age kids do! I get to have an unexpected day off, stay home with my kids, and curl up and read on the couch under a snuggly warm blanket! Plus the snow is so pretty. If snow is in the forecast I check constantly for updates on school closings and wait for my "school is closed" call.
3. Sometimes during the summer and on the above mentioned snow days, I get tired of feeding my kids 3 meals a day. That's horrible I know, but sometimes I just want to say, "Let's skip lunch today, we don't need it!"
4. I love a cup of hot green tea with a shot of honey...it's my go to comfort beverage
5. I love football and baseball, but I am an Ohio girl through and through, so Go Reds, Bengals, and Buckeyes!

I'm envious of your free time when your daughter is in school you can read!! I'm laughing at the comment about your husband!! Here is my husband truth...
1. On Saturday's if my husband isn't home I will sit and read, but I use the Find my iPhone app it's a GPS and I use it to watch my son when he is out and about, but I will also check how much longer before my husband gets home, so when he walks in the door I'm up and cleaning the house instead of still reading!!
2. Thankfully my job is flexible and so is my start time, because sometimes I can't put my book down in the morning, so I just go in a little later!!
3. I'm really envious of my sister who travels the world.
4. I have two amazing step daughters who I love like my own and rarely refer to them as step and one son of my own.
5. I hate coffee and drink tea all the time black and green!

Chris: I am with you on the tea. I love green tea and hate coffee! And I too am jealous of your sister!
Erika: Your son getting married is bittersweet! Sending good thoughts your way!
More truths:
1. When I first met my husband, I had a boyfriend and he (my future husband) used to come visit me at the ice cream parlor where I worked and order milkshakes and tip me large tips. It made my boyfriend at the time angry and at the time I didn't think anything about it.
2. I have only been outside of the U.S. once and that was to Canada and pre-passport requirement days, so I don't have a passport :(
3. Women who have been through divorce and/or are single parents are the strongest people I know. I couldn't be the woman I am or the mother I am without the constant help of my husband. I watch my sister do this by herself every day and couldn't fathom it. Kudos to all of the divorcee's and/or single parents. You are very strong!
4. I could eat pizza every day and not get tired of it. Pizza Hut, Dominoes, Little Ceasars, frozen pizza, school pizza, Local Pizza; it all tastes different to me! They each have a unique flavor!
5. I refer to my students at school as "my kids" because they are "my kids"! We spend so much time together we are like family! So I only have two kids that live with me. But after 10 years of teaching, I have around 300 kids that I claim as "mine".

You're not alone on #2. I don't have a passport and I live less than 200 miles from Canada. I don't even have a Washington state enhanced driver's license. Guess I should work on that!

More truths:
1. Making small talk makes me feel awkward. I swear I say the weirdest things some times.
2. I've turned into a huge procrastinator in my 30's.
3. I, too, start cleaning up and looking busy when I know my husband's coming home. It's usually after I pick up my daughter at school.
4. I secretly wish one of my daughter's teammates would quit soccer so I didn't get stuck talking to her mom. And I feel even worse because I'm not the only team mom that wishes that. I'm nice to her, but yikes!(I swear I'm not mean!)
5. It's weird being a stay-at-home mom without kids at home when all of your friends are going back to work. It makes me feel guilty. But it works best for our family right now. Plus, I don't know what I want to be when I grow up anymore!

I also 100% agree with how strong divorcees and single parents are, it's amazing!! I also want to add teachers to the list!! You guys are wicked awesome!! Seriously teachers should be paid like doctors!!

Karen, your story of your husband the big tipper is so awesome! I love it!! And your 300 kids so warms my heart. You must be an amazing teacher!
Deanna, take advantage of being a stay at home mom. Just because you daughter is in school, you still get to volunteer to help with school stuff and go on all the field trips and take your daughter to school and pick her up. There is nothing better to me! When I had my son I quit my job and I was a workaholic working up to 60 hours a week. It was the BEST thing I even did. I eventually went back to work 2 days a week for 5 hours a day, then 3 days and now he is a junior and I work 5 days, but only 5-6 hours a day. I never missed anything in his life. If you can afford it stay home and enjoy it!
Barb, you are so funny!! I can't believe you don't make small talk. I would think you would be so outgoing all the time, with everyone like you are here!
Erika, that is awesome that you are going to school now and figuring out what you want to do.
