Terence | 133 comments I've loved Agents of SHIELD from the Winter Soldier tie in on. I'm glad I didn't stop DVRing it part way through season one when I stopped watching it live weekly.

I realize I'm likely the excpetion but I love the Inhuman insertion in the MCU rather than Mutants. I grew up with the X-Men and know them intimately and still have tons of love for them, but it's fun to have something new with the Inhumans. I've known about them since the early 90s when they showed up on the Fantastic Four cartoon. Anyway I've been reading all the recent Inhumans storylines in the comics Inhuman and Uncanny Inhumans. I love the terrigen spreading and unveiling new Inhumans that had no idea they were Inhuman.

I've watched every episode live so far this season and I can't wait for Daisy to compile a Secret Warriors team. I hope the team isn't only Inhumans and they can sneak in a character like Jerry Sledge aka Stonewall the son of Crusher Creel the Absorbing Man.

(view spoiler) I'm stoked for the rest of the season and slightly bummed about the extra lenghty midseason break even though Agent Carter is fun.

He is one of my favourite characters on TV at the moment.

Rik | 777 comments I never liked Coulson in the movies. I found him to be a fan service character and that always annoys me. I've grown to really like him in the show, probably because he's not constantly nerdgasming over the Avengers like he was in the movies.

Trike | 11197 comments The Marvel One-Shot "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Thor's Hammer" is the definitive Coulson for me.

Walter Spence (walterspence) | 707 comments So, in terms of the proposed spinoff, it would appear it's finally on:

I'm sorry to see that. The market is oversaturated as is. Shield is going to be ABC's CSI or NCIS apparently.

Terence | 133 comments I don't see a point in spinning the Hunter and Bobbi off. It will hurt Agents of SHIELD, but I can't see it being all that successful with just the two of them. If they wanted to do a spin off then it should be the Secret Warriors with Daisy leading them, but even then I'd prefer they keep them all on one show.

Frankly Rob, that's my take on it, that it's likely to turn into a mediocre spinoff. But who knows? The original AoS stumbled a bit out of the gate, maybe we'll get lucky again the second time around (though I'm not holding my breath).

Rick I'm conflicted on this. On the one hand, I share the above concerns. But on the other, we've at times seen AoS struggle with giving all of the primary characters enough development. At times, we've seen characters relegated to the background for episodes.

I can see Bobbi and Hunter guesting on AoS occasionally to keep the whole "they're part of SHIELD" pretense, too. In fact, having cross-over characters would be somewhat fresh. Other franchises do it in a gimmicky way for sweeps, but having a more fluid movement of characters between the two shows could be fun.

Hunter has always been comic relief. Good for a laugh and a few minutes of action but I don't know if I could stand a whole show of him.

I want to see a Bobbi, May & Daisy action girl show. Coulson could ring them at the start of each episode and give them their mission for the week. You could call it "Coulson's Angels" ;-)

You make a fair point. This could definitely allow for better character development. Plus I imagine the show will be adding a few more Secret Warrior Inhumans to squeeze in along with Lincoln and Joey. Worst case scenario the new show sucks and they come back so that's not too bad.

Actually this is one of the advantages of this show. If you remember when we first meet Hunter, he's put forward as a highly skilled agent on the level of Bobbi. Recently, he's been reduced to comic relief and, when he went after Ward at the end, not very good. That latter was because Ward had plot armor but there's no way a top agent doesn't kill Ward in that situation - he takes a single shot rather than hitting Ward in the back with a burst and finishing him as he falls out the window? No. Way.

The AOS writers aren't really doing much with he and Bobbi, in some cases (Ward) because they can't. A new show lets them tell other stories in the SHIELD universe without catering to the AOS storyline.

Trike | 11197 comments I was going to say that I don't think the actors are strong enough to carry their own show, but then I think about top-rated shows like Blue Bloods and NCIS: Robin & Cool J.

That writing is going to have to be *tight*, though. Like Supernatural season 4 tight.
