Brina, any book which comes second goes into a second chance vote we will hold later in the year, so every vote counts! If your choice does not make the top two, then you can always re-nominate it for another month. We had a lot of strong options this month (as we do every month, it seems!) and so it is often difficult to choose between them :)
Thanks for the voting reminders! The poll closes early tomorrow (UK time) so it's the last chance to vote in this round!

(a) I am a Fiction Writer and Reader
(b) I am From Beautiful London
(c) My Favourite Authors: Erle Stanley Gardner, Agatha Christie, John Grisham
(d) My Favourite Books: Compiled a Big list and waiting to add more to my profile
Kind Regards,
Brenda
Welcome Brenda, glad you found us. We have lots of Agatha Christie fans here and currently have a Miss Marple challenge under way. I have read a couple of books by John Grisham but no Erle Stanley Gardner yet.
My parents both read Erle Stanley Gardner avidly and I picked up their copies in my youth. I remember liking Perry Mason and his cast of characters but its been a long time since I've read any.
I've never read Grisham but know he has a large following.
Welcome.

Welcome.

I think on this read through I am on #3, The Case of the Lucky Legs.

Hi Elizabeth - welcome to the group. we have read quite a few of those authors, so you should feel at home here!
Welcome Elizabeth! It’s great that you've joined. We have a Miss Marple challenge under way and are also discussing an Allingham book at the moment, so lots to discuss. :)

Welcome! I just finished a great Nero Wolfe (Some Buried Caesar) and we have a Miss Marple challenge this year. Hope you can join in.

Between-the-wars period has always fascinated me, in all sorts of ways not only mystery writings, so many of my shelves and interests reflect this. Likely a lot of you feel the same. I look forward to connecting with you and having a good time "talking" about some of our most favorite things.
was ill and had been away from reading much or reviewing or GRlibrarian-ing for a while, now trying to reconnect within GR, doing a lot of catching up! Here's to good times, both long past, and coming up!
Welcome Abbey, glad to meet you! That sounds like an amazing undertaking - I will look forward to exploring your shelf. Yes, here's to good times!

Thanks Judy and Brina. BTW, I *never* reveal important plot details in my reviews without using spoiler blocks, and even then I will go far out of my way to talk around such things. Trailers, book blurbs/reviews that give you most of The Good Bits (i.e. important twists, The Murder ID, etc) drive me mental, it's a real Pet Peeve of mine, and I tend to rant.....!

I'm Luci. Have been reading A.Christies, G.Simenons and A.C.Doyles books since my childhood. Think the first classic crimebook I read in my childhood was The hound of Baskerville. Loved it and still love it. Planning to read more of the classic crime authors. Hope to get around to read DL Sayers and Ck chesterton books soon.
Hi Luci - welcome to the group! We did D L Sayers as a group challenge last year and the discussion threads will remain open if you want to add your comments.

As do I- it does give one the shivers, doesn't it?
Welcome. My father introduced me to Holmes and The Hound of the Baskervilles is still a favorite. Hope you enjoy the group.

Welcome Julie, glad you found us! We are currently reading all the Miss Marple books for our group challenge - and I think a few other members are also reading all of Christie in order.
Hi Julie. I'm reading (very slowly) all of Christie's in order. I was inspired to do this by a podcast "All About Agatha" which reads and rates Christie in order. Luckily they do the short stories as well as novels, but even so I'm far behind. My next read will be The Seven Dials Mystery.

Ohh that sounds interesting! I have to check out that podcast too. Slowly but surely we'll finish them all, Sandy :)

Hi Julie, Welcome!
My Goodreads name is Abbess (Abbey) and if you check out my Fems Project shelves
https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...
or go to my page and click on my shelves there, you'll find my long long-running attempt to read and, in many cases REread all Agatha Christie in as-published or written order, AND (here's where it gets peculiar -grin-) female writers who were writing at the same times she was (roughly 1920-1970) and either seemed to me to have been strongly influenced by her and/or wrote similar styles to hers. Since Christie wrote in many different styles that leaves it wiiide open!!!
Yeah. Crazy. -grin- but truly am nuts about old books, so this is fun. I've been reviewing and attempting to review the books as I go, lost track for a couple of years but lately trying to get back to "work" and rereading several again so can review them..
Good Luck to you too! Most of her books, particularly from the 20s, 30s, 40s, are so much FUN!

Hi, Abbey! Wow! That's an incredible list, almost 2000! Definitely going to browse through this, thank you :) You're right, Agatha Christie is just so much fun, and I'm enjoying every minute of it. Good luck on your amazing endeavor too!

Welcome Sandy, glad you found us! We are reading all the Miss Marple books for our challenge this year but we do read and discuss a lot of other authors too, so hopefully you will find some more favourites here. :)
