YA Apocalyptic and Dystopian Fiction discussion

We have two books this month. The Book of Ivy is the first of them. We had a tie so I figured we would have them both. You can read either or both. If you read this one we would love your feedback!

It's a confusing one really for me as I read this book really quickly, but I wasn't blown away by it.
I read this book straight after Red Queen and saw all the similarities that I fear YA books really are all the same. Can someone please point out to me some YA books that don't follow the outline of 'girl meets boy, isn't meant to like boy but falls for them anyway'?
Overall this book is easy enough. It's intriguing, and has a half-formed idea of a post-apocalyptic world. I just felt that right from the start it's only written to bring you into the 2nd book, which is all fair and well but I'd like some story completion at least.

I agree with your review. It as an intriguing enough idea and I liked it enough to were I want to read the next book.
