Hated it, Kathy. Didn't finish it. It seemed like the premise was that the main character did nothing but make horrible choices. I kept screaming to myself, "Take the kid to the authorities!" Anyway, others may not have had the same reaction I did, but I could not recommend it.

Thanks, Kristie. I remember when the book was being promoted by Amazon. It didn't really draw me in, but the book got so much positive feedback.

MissSusie | 2422 comments I was thinking about this the other day, there is a page where I can find my ebooks that can be whispersynced with an audiobook but how come they don't have it for the other way around for audiobooks I own I should be able to get the ebook at a discounted rate too.

Just a thought and maybe Audible Support can say why this option isn't available too.

I agree that this feature would be great. I always assumed the feature only went in the Amazon-to-Audible direction because the W/S pricing works that way.

Don't know if they offer the discounted price but when you look at the audio in your audible library it offers the companion e-book (if available) and if it is still discounted that would be the bonus.

Melanti | 126 comments This month's free Whispersync book for the US is Mansfield Park. You buy the Kindle book first, then you can add the Audible book for free.

Kindle edition:
Mansfield Park ( On Amazon)

I THINK this is the correct Audible edition, but I grabbed a copy a few years back so I can't be sure. Follow Mansfield Park. I just listened to this a couple of months ago, and it was very good. But follow the links from the ebook edition listed above to make sure you get whichever edition is free.

Hunchback Jack | 545 comments For those of you who have Kindle ebook collections, and use Audible, it's always worth periodically checking for Whispersync audio titles for your Kindle ebooks.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/audible/mat...

Audible bring out new audio titles all the time, and periodically Whispersync existing titles, so it's worth checking every now and then. Ebooks you have already bought may suddenly have discounted audio.

I check mine every couple of weeks.

message 196: by Msjodi777 (new)

Msjodi777 | 52 comments As I said in our Current Reads thread, The Adventure of English: The Biography of a Language is one book that really needs to be whispersynced. There are a lot of Old English quotes that are quoted only so you could hear how close they sound, and you lose that when you eye-read the book. But, you also really need to see what the quoted text actually looks like to get the full impact of it. Definitely a book that needs to be whispersynced, but of course it isn't. <><

Kathy Golden | 320 comments The Perfect Assassin http://amzn.to/2bIAxdE is 99 cents and the audio is $3.99. Hopefully, I shared this deal in time. It might end today, and this book appears to be pretty popular.

For those who might interested, I found out about this book via an email from www.booklemur.com. I like the site because I only get emails about books in the genres I chose. There's no way to know if a deal includes an audiobook until you visit the Amazon link, but usually there are a couple of deals with audiobooks. Anyway, sign up is free.
