Chuck | 6 comments My first e-book will be available for free on Tues, Oct 13th and Wed. Oct 14th, 2015. I hope everyone will support me as a new author and pick up a copy. This book is on the topic of personal finance written from a biblical and Christian perspective.

Also, if you do pick up a copy, I would appreciate it if you leave an honest review on Amazon and Goodreads. Your review helps to ensure that more people will take note of the book and benefit from it's message.

Chuck | 6 comments Thanks to everyone that supported me during my free KDP Select promotion. I hit #1 in three different categories and ranked as low as #605 in the free Kindle store. My prayer is that my success in the free store will translate to sales in the paid store.

Kathy Golden Hi Chuck,
Do let us know if you see some quantitative results in sales that might help others.

Chuck | 6 comments Hi Kathy,
In spite of my success in giving the book away, the sales figures on the first day on the paid list were underwhelming. Apparently, Amazon has made changes and they don't internally promote successful free promotions in the paid list like they did previously . I have some paid promotions scheduled. We'll see if they help.

Kathy Golden Thanks for the update, Chuck. There are a number of websites that promote free books or Kindle deals, thus greatly expanding the news about these events. Did you notify any of these sites of your promotion? Also with which sites are your paid promotions scheduled?

Chuck | 6 comments I am scheduled on BuckBooks and Robin Reads. I looked into BookBub but they were beyond my budget and I understand that they are difficult to get into.
I advertised my free promotion on several websites, but since Amazon doesn't share the information about where the traffic comes from. It is hard to say which ones were effective and which ones weren't.

Kathy Golden Since your book is Christian Fiction, look into sites like http://faithfulreads.com/

http://crossreads.com/advertising-opt...

http://cleanindiereads.com/

In the case of the first two sites, they are genre-specific which translates into targeted marketing. Your book doesn't have to be free but a 99 cents special might do well. Also, I think the advertising fees are reasonable and allow you to renew the time frame easily, thus allowing your book a chance to be seen over and over by a Christian audience. Crossreads also allows authors to donate copies of their books in exchange for honest reviews. You can be assured of a review because that is the condition upon which the book is donated.

When running a free Kindle Promotion, the more sites you can make aware of it, the better. Here is a link to sites you'll want to cull through and select from:
