Sebastian St. Cyr by C. S. Harris
This one wasn't on my shelf but I've followed Lauren's reviews and am caving in and will participate in this one, too!

Really hope you enjoy the books, Jonetta.

Welcome, Maria Rose! Laura's one of our active and valued members here so we're glad she led you to the group. Hopefully you'll remember enough about the first six books to join in on the discussions.

So you love it? We usually think alike so maybe I'll rethink this.

Aww thanks Jonetta. I love this group, you will too Maria!!

I do! They were one of the series I started reading before I really got into the romance genre again. There is some romance in it, but it's not the whole basis of the stories. And it goes in directions you don't expect. But the writing is excellent.

I'm planning to do a reread of the books each month with you! Thanks for the welcome :-)

Looking forward to it! I've got lots of arc reading on my plate, but I'm definitely looking forward to reading this series again, and continuing where I left off!

Check out the reading plans, they may be helpful with organizing all your arcs and reviews you do.

Didn't know that, Laura. I think I'll do some research on the author and series and add that info to the first message.

I've added her bio above and some info about the series gleaned from interviews with the author.

cool!

After I read the first few of the Sebastian St. Cyr series I looked for her historicals and managed to pick a few up at a local used bookstore. (Sadly they are still on my to-read pile, but at least I have them!)

Thanks Laura, I'll do that!

Thank you! Looking forward to the reads next year!

I'm glad to hear that :)

I've been intrigued by the genre and Lauren's reviews. Up until now, I've resisted the temptation. Caved:)

Welcome Maria Rose! I'm in the same boat only on book #7. It will be fun refreshing my memory with the earlier books as the group read goes along :0)

Hang in there, Monica. Not much longer...

Thank you Lauren! I'm definitely looking forward to having a good excuse to go back and read those first ones and then catch up on the series. I have very little time for rereading these days with the amount of books I have to read and review for the blogs I work with so this will make a good excuse :-)

Love her romance books Laura! Ms Harris said she is regaining the rights for all her older books and they will available in the kindle format soon.
Welcome Jo Ann! I'm getting that this series has a strong fan group. We're glad to have you here.

Yay! Jo Ann, that is great to hear. I have some of her paperbacks in my keeper box but it will be nice to find them electronically too!

Hi Jo Ann! We look forward to having a new book friend join in on our discussions! I'm so glad you love this series so much. I've only heard good things, and am really looking forward to starting it in January.

Thank you!

Thnaks!
I just found the first book at my used bookstore so I will be starting this series as well.

About the author
Candice Proctor, aka C.S. Harris and C.S. Graham, is the bestselling, award-winning author of more than twenty novels including the Sebastian St. Cyr Regency mystery series written under the name C.S. Harris, the C.S. Graham thriller series co-written with Steven Harris, and seven historical romances. She is also the author of a nonfiction historical study of women in the French Revolution. Her books are available worldwide and have been translated into over twenty languages.
A former academic with a PhD in European history, Candice also worked as an archaeologist on a variety of sites including a Hudson's Bay Company Fort in San Juan Island, a Cherokee village in Tennessee, a prehistoric kill site in Victoria, Australia, and a Roman cemetery and medieval manor house in Winchester, England. She loves to travel and has spent much of her life abroad, living in Spain, Greece, England, France, Jordan, and Australia. She now makes her home in New Orleans, Louisiana, with her husband, retired Army officer Steve Harris, and an ever-expanding number of cats.
About the Series
C. S. Harris stated in an interview, "...before I ever began the first book in the series, I spent years thinking about Sebastian, Hendon, Hero, Jarvis, and Kat, about who they were and why they were that way. My approach to the characters who appear in the individual books is very different: I simply start writing, and they come. Sometimes they don’t come, or they don’t come right, and then I have a terrible time. But in the end, they come. The subconscious is a wonderful thing."
"You know, I started out writing historical romances. So when I moved to mysteries I made the conscious decision to put a character that is basically a romance hero into a mystery series. I wanted him young, sexy, intelligent, dangerous, intensely honorable and brave, dark and wounded but capable of a deep, powerful love, loyal, and respectful of women’s intelligence and abilities. If I was going to be spending 10-20 years of my life with this man, I wanted him to be someone I could fall in love with! And I gave him two strong, brave, smart women—Kat and Hero."
We will begin the series in January and read one book a month until completion.
