❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 9624 comments Sadly, I don't have anything to catch up on since I haven't been watching anything. It is kinda embarrassing when people start talking about some show they are watching and I have no idea what's on TV at the moment. I'm getting where-do-you-live looks quite often :P

I have SO MUCH TV to catch up on!! And if the TV is on, it's usually my husband watching sports so really I am ridiculously behind.

Anita Reads | 1677 comments There are 3 things I have to see at the moment. One of them is a new Danish TV Series, that started up in October about a small town, with Ice Hockey, a young high school student who lost his mother in the first episode, a police crew tracking down drug dealers and everything.

Then I've been watching this baking competition thing. I always watch it. It's so amazing watching all these awesome cakes. Also I really admire one of the judges, she's a very fine pastry baker. I just watched the final today. It was pretty exciting.

The last thing I always watch, which is currently running is the Danish version of Dancing with the Stars/Strictly Come Dancing. That's always so much fun.

I'm very much behind on these series:
GoT, Grey's, Bones, and a few episodes behind on Once Upon a Time. There might be other series I've forgotten.

I seem to be continually behind on TV. Not sure it's actually possible to be up to date. I don't think my Netflix account helps anything with that!

Anita - sounds a lot like Great British Bake Off which we have here and I love watching. Not sure how they manage to make any of the cakes! Strictly come dancing is a show I tend to watch with my Dad, which makes up for the amount of time we watch sports (football or rugby) together!

I have managed not to have too many challenges going at the moment! I enjoy the team challenges, but I'm not good at planning my reading so prefer not to do too many others. Having said that I'm doing the Candy Crush Challenge in another group which is going to need about 100 books in a variety of series by the time it's finished (so will take me about a year if I don't read anything else).

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3795 comments I'm not doing too many challenges, but I'm doing the Novel Role Playing Challenge which is the most fun thing I've ever done in Gr! It's never ending and you can personalize your journey... It gives you such a sense of accomplishment.

I think my sister once said she watched the British version and was like. Wow they have it easy. I think she watched an episode where one of the judges say: It's OK to see it's home baked, and my sister would have said. That wouldn't have happened with Mette Blomsterberg (our judge), who's very perfectionistic and want everything to look perfect to the smallest detail. It's amazing what those contestants can come up with though.

I'm very bad at planning what I'm going to read as well, but I've tried putting a little planning into it this year. It has helped me, but I'm still pretty much behind, because I'm often swaying away from that list.
Yeah - I'm also doing the Candy Crush Saga Challenge. First edition, and I only need 3 books to complete it.

Well done Anita! It's good to hear that it is possible to get to the end with it.

It's interesting to hear about how some shows are done all over the world with variations! It varies how nice they are to the contestants - one of the judges here (Paul) has a mean streak.

message 110: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 1677 comments Yes. Well I've needed those 3 books for a while now. it's book 8, 9 and 10 of a series.

For TOWER TEAMS we're making The Child Thief by Brom (November's Adult Sci-Fi/Fantasy BOM) an exception.

Meaning, we are granting the page points, participating in discussion points, and DQ's points, as long as you finish the book after the starting date

Like we can't accidentally start BR two days too late. You know that everyone will have it already. Especially if it's like previous books and you get it earlier on preorder.

That's cruel :)

We don't celebrate Halloween here. There'll be some private parties, but no trick or treating. We have that in February.
I'm kinda celebrating - my brother had birthday, so tomorrow we are going to mom's for family lunch. And to see if things are still there after flood two weeks before. Last time we were collecting them from neighbors yards and shrubs nearby :P

And maybe add "JIMMY KIMMEL FAN" for good measure

We're closing our summerhouse for the winter so I'll be working a lot in the garden this weekend.

You're trying to get me egged! Mostly we don't get a lot of kids so the candy ends up going in my stomach and I certainly don't need that. My husband is out of town so I plan on burrowing with the cats!

Weelll... yesterday the chocolate & candy was on sale. I never go back to the supermarket on my own!

Stacie - Last year we handed out candy and ran out, so we turned our front light on. They kept banging on the door and finally we had to turn all the lights off in the house and hide upstairs!

This year we will be at a party so we won't have to deal with the crazy kids.

Yep me too! But in our neighboorhood the kids are drive in from all over the city, so they want to get as much candy as possible. Even the parents ask for candy....for themselves. Which is why we ran out so soon! Not going to miss that hassle this year, but I will miss seeing all the cute costumes.

Happy Friday!

Sonia wrote: "I never go back to the supermarket on my own!"
I know that feeling! One of the bigger mistakes I made was trying to go food shopping for actual meals for a few days when I was both hungry and stressed... I came back with cookies, ice cream and chocolate, but nothing for dinner that night!

We don't really do Halloween in the UK. Is getting to be bigger and bigger but where I am there's a lack of children apart from anything else! Sounds like it gets quite stressful trying to get the candy or hiding!

I do get to celebrate with friends this weekend though. We're having a baby shower for the 1st of our group from university to be expecting. Will be good to catch up with them all.

It's the same here in Denmark. We also do that in February. At that time we also has this barrel filled with candy, that kids have to crush. Then there'll be Cat King and Cat Queens awarded afterwards.

It's my brother's birthday tomorrow, so usually I spend the day celebrating him, but this year he's having a party for his friends in stead, and we were there today.

Hope those of you celebrating things today have a good time!

Appropriately for Halloween I was terrified while walking my parents dog earlier today. They live in a rural area and I was walking through the fields when I heard a couple of shots being fired. Didn't think too much of it, until I walked round a corner and saw 6 men with shotguns spread out the width of the 2 fields either side of the footpath I was walking on, aiming the direction I was about to head off in. When I'd got about 500m further on the shots started again - felt like I was walking down a firing range. Was very relieved the dog was calm about the sudden loud noises.
