It's good for not having to select books too carefully (or at least it has been in the past!)

Am at the nice point that I've just finished my driving audiobook and don't have to go anywhere until the challenge starts. Given they normally take me about 2 weeks to listen to it's v good timing!

Also wow that's a lot of goal variations! Will have to get into the habit of keeping a pad and pen close while reading

In new and exciting news I'm going to be flying to New York on Monday for 10 days to see my fiance for a bit. Not sure whether I'm more excited about 8 hours uninterrupted reading or seeing him...

Spreadsheets posted on message #1

message 210: by ❀Tea❀ (new)

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 9624 comments We have our spreadsheet and we got our first goals.

- Read a book with the name of the tarot card "Judgement" in the text or title

- Read a book where a character is always ready to help, takes care of others or is often taken advantage of.

- Read a book where the edition you are reading was published on the 24th of a month

- Read a book with the word aggregate in the text

- Read a book from a genre that you love

If any book you are planning to start with fits any of those goals, let us know.

Attention Captains.

Please check the Spreadsheet FAQ's.

Stacie, your job, if you choose to accept it, is to cover the US times. Make sure the spreadsheet is updated and if there's any book that fits any goal =) (you already have spreadsheet permissions. Check out the FAQs and let us know if you have any doubts). And then me and Tea should have the european times covered

Eni | 2349 comments alright done. We shouldn't need it but just in case.

Anita Reads | 1677 comments Wooop :)

My first book I'll be reading will be HP and the Goblet of Fire.
It should be able to cover some goals. I remember from the Gladiator Games, it could cover several things.
It's also long so it will get some page points :)

message 222: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3795 comments I've started The Heir and I'll have to remember to take notes! I can't wait to find out about the end of this series.

message 223: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3795 comments I'm also starting Library of Souls today. I know Emma will qualify for "Read a book where a character is always ready to help, takes care of others or is often taken advantage of."

message 224: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 1677 comments I also started on Confess by Colleen Hoover on audio. I think I'll have that one finished by tomorrow, as I'm already halfway, and it's only a 7 hour audio.

I've just finished my 1st book of the challenge... Was Into the Darkest Corner
Would work for "Read a book where a character is always ready to help, takes care of others or is often taken advantage of." but that overlaps with RebeccaS. Is also a thriller which is a genre I love

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend. Mine seems to have been v busy. Went shopping with my sisters yesterday before a family outing to Bonfire Night. Then spent today with my best friend, her husband and 7 month old. Not looking forward to leaving the house at 6.30 tomorrow to get to the airport...

Turtlecollector Dennis | 1164 comments finished my first book and posted it in our thread. It fits our second task.

message 227: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi everyone! I'm reading Ursual K Le Guin's The Left Hand of Darkness and Henry James' The Golden Bowl.

I will let you know if they turn out to fit any of the goals!

message 228: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) New goals:

Read a book where the world ends

Read a book shelved (listed on the first page on GR) as Christian - plurals and spelling acceptable

message 229: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) Tina, can please log your book in the books read thread and give us any information about it that could be helpful? Thank you!

I've just found a 131 page novella free on amazon listed as Christian. Will shuffle that to the top of my reading list!

I've read Toward the Sunrise at the airport this morning. It's listed as Christian on it's main page so will meet that goal.

message 237: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) I'm finding books at the end of the list that I've either read or are on my TBR. Shakespeare, Joe Hill, Girl with a Pearl Earring, etc.

message 242: by Tina (new)

Does that work for one of the goals?

it should.
Can you give me sentence, please?
amazon doesn't have preview :(

message 244: by ❀Tea❀ (new)

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 9624 comments Note

If goals is to find word in text, we need sentence with it.

Also if your book fits currently open goal, there is no need for you to give us all that info.
