Your book The Thirteenth Tale will actually work for our newest goal, but you need to put it on your shelf first please. :) Thanks!"

I feel better, thank you!

Sarah-jane | 144 comments From what I have understood all our books apply to the Holiday Challenge as long as they are read after the goal was posted, is that right ?

Looks like there will be a new one each day and books must be started after the goal is posted. They are worth 10 point and be read by 15 January.

message 607: by Sarah-jane (new)

Sarah-jane | 144 comments Ok ! Thanks Danielle :)

message 608: by Allison Ann (new)

Allison Ann | 1408 comments Thanks Ariane - another nice run of goals Danielle.

I haven't read much the last 24 hours - 12 hours of bookwork makes my eyes not focus so well. :D Maybe today I'll find a book I can get into. Maybe a red one.

message 609: by ✿~Danielle~✿ (new)

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) | 5684 comments I'm going to read Pushing the Limits (Pushing the Limits, #1) by Katie McGarry for the YA realistic goal. It will probably take a few days as I'm not really feeling up to reading much today. At least not at the moment. Will see how things go later.

My grandparents just left after a visit of a couple of hours. In a about half hour my 6 year old cousin will be here for a few hours, her mother has an exam in Uni. So probably a good job not up for reading as I'll get no chance when she is here. Fun though.

message 610: by Allison Ann (new)

Allison Ann | 1408 comments Sarah-Jane - are there any grandparents in Big Little Lies? I've been trying to find a contender for our multiple generations goal.

message 611: by Sarah-jane (new)

Sarah-jane | 144 comments Yes there are Allison ! I hadn't even picked up on that goal sorry.

message 612: by Allison Ann (new)

Allison Ann | 1408 comments Awesome, thanks!

message 613: by Allison Ann (new)

Allison Ann | 1408 comments NEW GOAL -- Read a book where the page numbers add to 10 (i.e. 345 pages = 3+4+5 = 12).
Used Donna's The Orphanage of Doom (The Grimm Chronicles #4) by Isabella Fontaine

NEW GOAL -- Read a book with a ship on the cover. (Again)

message 614: by Allison Ann (new)

Allison Ann | 1408 comments I'm reading a red cover since I don't have anything that works for a real goal right now. Final Jeopardy (Alexandra Cooper, #1) by Linda Fairstein

message 615: by ✿~Danielle~✿ (new)

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) | 5684 comments I didn't get any ready done yesterday or be online much at all. Today I will start the YA goal book.

message 616: by ✿~Danielle~✿ (new)

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) | 5684 comments Christmas – Day 2

Read a book with cookies on the cover

message 617: by ✿~Danielle~✿ (last edited Dec 03, 2015 08:47AM) (new)

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) | 5684 comments Completed the YA goal

NEW GOAL

Read a book where MC is too proud/stubborn

Would any of you say one of your goalless books work for this one?

message 618: by Allison Ann (new)

Allison Ann | 1408 comments My book Say Goodbye has a main character who is a FBI agent who is pregnant yet too stubborn to ask for help because apparently this pregnancy makes her a sudden weakling. ;)

I'm counting it. My annoyance should earn me 5 points. :)

message 619: by Allison Ann (last edited Dec 03, 2015 10:41AM) (new)

Allison Ann | 1408 comments NEW GOAL -- Read a book that has been on your "to read" shelf for more than 2 years.

I don't keep books on my TBR that long ever, anyone?

My "to read" shelf is pretty messed up, so unless someone else has something that works, I do have one or two on there that I can read.

message 623: by ✿~Danielle~✿ (new)

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) | 5684 comments I don't have any books with cookies on the cover for the Christmas challenge.

message 624: by Allison Ann (new)

Allison Ann | 1408 comments Finished my red book. I think I have a ship book to read next. And I have a cookie book too. I'll start one of them tonight after I get a bit of actual work done. :D

message 625: by Allison Ann (new)

Allison Ann | 1408 comments Maybe we should consider booning the "Read a book where someone tames/befriends an animal." goal? Nobody seems to be interested in reading that one.

message 626: by Sarah-jane (new)

Sarah-jane | 144 comments None of my books seem to fit our current goals :/ ...

message 627: by ✿~Danielle~✿ (last edited Dec 03, 2015 03:46PM) (new)

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) | 5684 comments I didn't know what to read after finishing my book this afternoon, so I decided to read to the book on to-read shelf for over two years. So my last update of the night with a new goal as I off to bed.

NEW GOAL
Read a book with the name of the tarot card "The Moon" in the text or title

message 628: by Allison Ann (last edited Dec 03, 2015 04:46PM) (new)

Allison Ann | 1408 comments I hate reading on my computer, but the search function is nice.

Read a book with the name of the tarot card "The Moon" in the text or title.
Used The Spia Family Presses On (One Olive at a Time #1) by Mary Leo

NEW GOAL -- Read a book with the name of the tarot card "Death" in the text or title
Used Tara's Dead in the Water (Stone Barrington, #3) by Stuart Woods

NEW GOAL -- Read a book set in the time period "Middle Ages". (5th to 14th century - don't think we have anything for this)

message 629: by LaLine (last edited Dec 03, 2015 10:22PM) (new)

LaLine | 411 comments One book I listened to had the MC befriended a cat (and earlier in the series she befriended a dog), but it was used for a different goal (Trojan Gold). I just started listening to the next book in the series so if she happens to befriend another animal I'll let you know.

I am also reading another book with a ship on the cover. Will probably finish it tonight. But it could also work for other goals in the future if someone else is reading a ship book.

And I have Catherine, Called Birdy which is a 14th century book I can start tonight.

message 630: by LaLine (new)

LaLine | 411 comments I just added my ship book to the books read thread. I listed it as covering the goal for the ship on the cover, but I'm wondering if we should save it for a different goal. It fits a few other goals in the goal spreadsheet that might be harder to meet. I see above that Allison also has a ship book and I have a couple other books on my Kindle that would cover that goal that I can read if needed. Just a thought.

Ok, I'll leave it for now then with Allison having a ship book.

message 634: by Sarah-jane (last edited Dec 04, 2015 02:28AM) (new)

Sarah-jane | 144 comments The last book I read has "Christmas" in the title ? Could we use that for the Day 3 Christmas goal :) ?

message 635: by ✿~Danielle~✿ (new)

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) | 5684 comments The Christmas goal books must to started after the goal is given.

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) | 5684 comments NEW GOAL

Read a book where the edition you are reading was published on the 17th of a month

None of our goalless books fit

message 638: by ✿~Danielle~✿ (new)

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) | 5684 comments Finished I'll Be Home For Christmas (Coming Home, #0.5) by Jessica Scott for Day 3

message 639: by Allison Ann (new)

Allison Ann | 1408 comments Finished Macaron Murder (Patisserie Mystery #1) by Harper Lin for Day 2.

message 640: by Allison Ann (new)

Allison Ann | 1408 comments I'll be done my ship book by tonight. I have a book published on the 17th and I have a middle ages book but it is over 1000 pages so I think I'll leave that to LaLine. :)

Haven't managed to find anything for brain candy though, anyone?

message 641: by ✿~Danielle~✿ (new)

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) | 5684 comments I had a look this morning and nothing for brain candy.

We have a boon to use and my thought is to use it on the goal shelved brain candy.

message 642: by ✿~Danielle~✿ (new)

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) | 5684 comments There is now a Christmas tab now on spreadsheet, so have updated the books read for days 1-3.

message 643: by Sarah-jane (new)

Sarah-jane | 144 comments I agree on using the boon for the brain candy book

message 644: by Sarah-jane (new)

Sarah-jane | 144 comments Well done girls ! We are the only team that have completed the 3 christmas day goals so far :) !!

message 645: by Kenéz (new)

message 646: by Donna (new)

Donna (dkflynn33) | 2715 comments Will a book on the "brain candy reads" listopia work for the brain candy book? I think I own a few of those books.

message 647: by ✿~Danielle~✿ (last edited Dec 04, 2015 02:12PM) (new)

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) | 5684 comments The books needs to be shelved "brain-candy" on first page of top shelves to work.

The goal – Read a book shelved (listed on the first page of the "top shelves" of the book) as brain-candy - plurals and minor spelling variations are acceptable

message 649: by Donna (last edited Dec 04, 2015 02:23PM) (new)

Donna (dkflynn33) | 2715 comments The Devil Wears Prada (The Devil Wears Prada, #1) by Lauren Weisberger is on pg 1 of https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/... so I will read that next for the brain candy book

message 650: by Allison Ann (last edited Dec 04, 2015 03:20PM) (new)

Allison Ann | 1408 comments Unfortunately Donna, even though that book is on page one, brain candy doesn't show up on the first page of genres - it has too many reviews. https://www.goodreads.com/work/shelve...
