Allison Ann | 1408 comments I haven't read a word in two days because I've been watching The Walking Dead DVDs. Odd show. I don't like any of the characters except Glenn, but I can't seem to stop watching for some reason. I'm kind of rooting for the walkers but I still want to see what happens to everyone.

One more season until I run out of DVDs and have to find the next couple of seasons. Tomorrow I WILL read again. :)

message 104: by Ariane (new)

Ariane I haven't watched The Walking Dead yet, mostly because I think I could get too obsessed with it and I have so many tv shows to watch already ;)
I'm finishing City of Ashes today and it is soo good! I don't know how I'll do to not read the third one ASAP!

message 105: by Sarah-jane (new)

Sarah-jane | 144 comments I have a hard time juggling reading and watching series so I tend to go through phases ! Ha ha !

I love the walking dead though ! Apparently the 5th season is excellent. I stopped at the end of season 4 so I must get going again :)

message 106: by Allison Ann (new)

Allison Ann | 1408 comments I rarely watch TV but about once a year I marathon something on DVD and stop reading for a few days until I get it out of my system. So I had a day off and it poured rain and someone gave me the first three seasons of The Walking Dead - BOOM - marathon. :) It doesn't help that the book I'm halfway through is boring me and the next one on my schedule doesn't interest me at all and I haven't been to the library to load up in weeks. I'd better go this afternoon.

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) | 5684 comments I haven't watched The Walking Dead. I'm watching Castle at the moment and have just begun season 4. I do like coming late to series, whether they are TV or books, as I like have that build up and can get right stuck into them without waiting.

message 108: by Ariane (new)

Ariane 8 days, ladies!!
Is someone planning to read a BOM?

message 109: by Sarah-jane (new)

Sarah-jane | 144 comments I would like to read Pretty girls. We have to participate in the BOM discussion to get the points don't we ?

What about you ?

message 110: by Sarah-jane (new)

Sarah-jane | 144 comments Ohhh and six of crows looks good too :) !

message 111: by Ariane (new)

Ariane I think we have to participate in the discussion to get the bonus points, yes. I don't think I'll read them in November, because they're not available in my library. Maybe next month.

message 112: by Sarah-jane (new)

Sarah-jane | 144 comments What one's are you interested in ? I think they all look good this month to be honest.

message 114: by ✿~Danielle~✿ (new)

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) | 5684 comments I've not planning to read any of next months BOM's and I problem won't unless I really want to read one in the future months.

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) | 5684 comments Anyone have plans for Halloween?

It's not that big here, although each year it gains in popularity.

Our attempts at pumpkin carving
Aaa Aaa

message 117: by Donna (new)

Donna (dkflynn33) | 2715 comments Happy Halloween, everyone!!

message 118: by Allison Ann (new)

Allison Ann | 1408 comments My pumpkin had a black spot near the corner of its mouth so I turned it into Marilyn Monroe. My carving skills are neglible so it basically looked like a standard jack o'lantern with eyelashes, a big mouth and a beauty spot. :D

I also read a book yesterday. And one the day before. Yay, reading is back, TV is out.

message 119: by Kari (new)

Kari (mazuka) | 427 comments we are sad. .... we never did carve a pumpkin...maybe for thanksgiving?

message 120: by Sarah-jane (new)

I think I'll be reading Pretty Girls this month too. The other BOM choices are not in my library, therefore not going to happen.

Have a good day teammates, we haven't seen the sun all week here, hope it is better where you all are.

Kenéz Boglárka Are we going to participate in BOMS?

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) | 5684 comments Kenéz wrote: "Are we going to participate in BOMS?"

If you want to. I've put November's BOM in message 14 on the first page with links to the threads for easy reference.

Are you wanting to just join the discussion when they start or write DQ's for one of them?

message 131: by Kenéz (new)

Kenéz Boglárka I don't think that I will have enough time for writing the question, but I think I'm going to join the discussion...

message 132: by Allison Ann (new)

Allison Ann | 1408 comments I volunteered for questions for Pretty Girls. There are a lot of volunteers already so it will have to be a lottery anyway I think.

I have your down as putting name down, just say if you're one of the randomised picks for the DQ's.

message 135: by ✿~Danielle~✿ (new)

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) | 5684 comments I'm not going to do DQ's, but I will probably take part in the Back Room BOM.

Well you're younger than me ;)
But that's okay! I wish I had loved to read at 17, but sadly it didn't come to me for a few more years, I was a senior in college before I really was a reader.

message 142: by Sarah-jane (new)

Sarah-jane | 144 comments I agree Tara :) ! I used to read a lot when I was really young and then I had a very long break until January of this year ...

Ladies, for the beginning of TT does the first book have to be started on the 7th or can we have started before hand as long as we finish it after the 7th ?

Books must be started after the start time of the 7th. The only book that can be started and will count towards TT is the BOM of The Child Thief by Brom which started on the 2nd November.

Allison Ann | 1408 comments Kenéz wrote: "Am I the youngest one here?"

You are younger than me also. :) I have been a reader my entire life. Not too many days exist in the past 40 or so that I didn't read for at least a few minutes. :) My whole family is like that though, so I grew up with my parents reading in the living room after supper when most families were watching TV. Christmas morning was always completely silent after we finished opening presents because everyone would dive into their new books (toys too of course when we were little, we're not complete Luddites :D ) My siblings are all still readers and they all married non-readers. It's so bizarre to me to talk to people who can't answer the question "what are you reading right now?"

Still don't know what my first Tower Team book will be. I read about a book a day so I'll finish up a few before we start. Anyone saving something good?

I've been a read my whole life too. I remember from young if we were going anywhere I'd always pick up a book to take.

No, I'm not saving anything or waiting to start anything until Saturday evening. I read too much to hold off and wait.
