Hi, I havent' finished a book yet for the TT. I am 50% done with Rock the Heart though. Just so terribly busy time and I got sick :( I didn't even read a word yesterday. Hope to finish ASAP but my schedule is very busy til Sunday.

For "Read a book that your co-captain or captain has read which is on your "to read" shelf (go to the person's profile -->compare books)", do you think a re-read would count or is it cheating? I was planning to re-read Red Rising (& Golden Son) before Morning Star came out in January anyway, and Danielle has read Red Rising, so if so I could read that sooner rather than later if it'll count?

FOLLOW THE HIERARCHY
The communication chain is:

Member --> Team Leader --> Mentor --> All Mods

What does this mean?

It means that if you make a question that is on the rules or Goal FAQs you may get re-directed to those posts.

It also means that members cannot go over their team captains/co-captains (team leader for short) directly to the mods.

We over 300 players, and so our captains and co-captains help team members by:
- Answering members questions
- Make the bridge between members and mods
- Also, there are extra threads for taking care of team issues, goal doubts, and general questions on the captains group. So they have access to a lot more info than the members.

But my team captain is a mod and she said she needed to check with the others

Well, yes.

Mods are like mom and dad. If one of them makes a rule about an issue, the others don't say otherwise. We respect each other and don't step into each others toes. So. If something was said before, it will be checked if memory fails.

Also, mods are like doctors. Sometimes they need a second opinion before taking a decision.

Mods also "hire" external consultants. Some of the goals were suggested by members, so we need to check what was their original idea before making a ruling.

Mods are humans too. Meaning we make mistakes. But, we assume them, and try to fix it as quickly and painless as possible. Also, we have real lives and real live issues too. This is a very loved hobby, but just that. A hobby. Unfortunately we don't get paid for all this volunteer work! ;).

But my team is too chatty and info gets lost
Ask your team leaders to put it on a visible place. You can also PM your team leaders.

I ask a question and my team captain only answers it when I'm sleeping
Please remember that there are different time zones, and people have demanding schedules too. Relax. This is supposed to be fun. Not stressful. Is a hobby.

I don't like my team or my captains
Is there a particular reason? Do you wanted a chattier team? Or are you not into chatting at all? We try to pair teams taking in account their preferences, but sometimes it doesn't work well. If you prefer quiet, You can focus on reading and just check in to post your books. If you prefer a chatty one, you can always try to make the team to chat.

If you think your team captains are not doing their job, compile a list of things - and this is not book or personal taste - with objective points and PM your mod mentor.

If you have issues with your mod mentor.. then compile those, and PM the mod account. We'll work it out.

Faith, re-reading a book is totally fine as long as it hasn't been read in the last 6 months. If it's been longer that that, then yes you can read Red Rising again.

Edit: Sorry, was only thinking on the rereading part not the task. It's says to-read shelf, so I'm thinking it needs to be not one you've read before and from that shelf.

I have a question and the rules say to ask the team captain! There is a discrepency in the page numbers. I read the Kindle version and it was 231 pgs, the one posted here in GR says 330 pgs. What do I post?

Hello! Sorry I've been busy, still am. I have so many competition that I can't even count it, and a sience art and literature conference. So sorry… I've started the BOM hopefully I will have time to finish it, and I will pick up some short book at the weekend.

Just popping in to say that I am totally addicted to Pretty Girls ! So much that's it's taking up most of my studying time ha ha ! I am more than halfway through it so hopefully I should be done by tonight or tomorrow. Who else is reading it too ? Can't wait to know what you guys think !!

I decided against reading it. Last year I tried Cop Town and couldn't get into it. I didn't finish it. It's good you're loving Pretty Girls.

This is the first book I have read from Karin Slaughter. I am waiting to see how it will finish before deciding on reading any of her other books.

I finished which wasn't a very good book at all. It was however on the Best Book Boyfriend list. I used this book then on this goal.

Great, I have a note that you're read book and discussion points to be added when you're done. So don't worry those points won't be forgotten.

I finished Pretty Girls today too. I don't post my questions until Sunday though. I thought it was a pretty good book, it definitely got better as the story progressed, much better than Cop Town which was terrible.

I'm torn on what to read next. None of the books I need to finish for the SRC fit our goals, and the books I have that will work for goals - none of them work for any other challenges. :) Maybe I'll just flip a coin.

As Cop Town was the one I tried, it looks like it was probably a bad one to start with.

I find her books pretty hit and miss but Cop Town was definitely the worst of the bunch (so far).

I'll definitely be avoiding that one then :/
Allison Ann have you read any other books by her ? I have the same problem as you, I still haven't figured out what I'm going to read next ... So many books to choose from !

I liked her Will Trent series, but Cop Town was the first standalone. I was a little worried that Pretty Girls was following the same trend but she at least she had a good mystery to back up her cop hatred in this book.

I decided to read one of my chunky books for the points. I'll check the library tonight to see if I have any Clive Cussler to finish, he's usually good for a ship on the cover. I also have a short "bicycle" book that I could get to on Sunday.
