megan | 1492 comments I thought Karen's stone book covered the hands goal.

Karen | 65 comments I have the 'title starts with a G' goal covered. About to start
Gould's Book of Fish A Novel in Twelve Fish by Richard Flanagan

Gould's Book of Fish by Richard Flanagan.....been on my list for ages.

message 512: by Karen (new)

Karen | 65 comments Also, I wasn't sure if The Gift of Stone would count for the 'hand' goal as it only shows a partial.....

The Gift Of Stones by Jim Crace

What do you guys think?

Not ignoring what you said Rebecca but if a book already read counts for the goal we may aswell use that.

And I wasn't sure about it Karen I want to say it does but I'll check

message 514: by [deleted user] (new)

Just sayin, I didn't know you already read Eldest when I posted it. But if it works then we should use Eldest.

I think it should count. It's not like it's a finger. I'd ask a mod though.

So do I. I've asked Sonia about both goals.

message 517: by megan (new)

megan | 1492 comments It's such a close up picture of the hand that not all of it fits on the cover. We should get double points!

Morning Guys, So I had a reply after we marked off the hand goal from Sonia but I was asleep and we'd already gone ahead after a captain discussion agreeing it was ok. Unfortunately Sonia said that her and the other mods have already talked about this and they decided that it wasn't close up enough. I am going to find another book with a closer up enough of a hand.

The only book I've found so far and its free on kindle (WOO) called Ghost Hand Ghost Hand (The PSS Chronicles, #1) by Ripley Patton any thoughts from you guys on this? I'm going to ask and check and see what they say.

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Megan I can read The Indian in the Cupboard (The Indian in the Cupboard, #1) by Lynne Reid Banks if you want, shouldn't take too long.

Megan | 1607 comments Grace wrote: "Megan I can read The Indian in the Cupboard (The Indian in the Cupboard, #1) by Lynne Reid Banks if you want, shouldn't take too long."

I've started this now, And I asked on the mod thing if it was okay and they seemed to think it was fine. I'm like 33% in so don't worry :) Hopefully I'll finish this before lunchtime.

message 525: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments OK I will see if I can find something for the swimming one, that is our third repeat which funny considering how many goals there are.

message 526: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments I have Volley Balls I will read to get that one out of the way. It is very short.

ah of course. Shoulda guessed that haha!

message 530: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments I confused you mentioning one goal and going fr a different one, I just spotted it when I was searching through calibre. It was truly appalling, thank goodness it was short. Going to update the spreadsheet now. I need to read a quick book for another challenge. Then I will finish the book I was reading this morning.

message 532: by megan (new)

megan | 1492 comments Abbie read The Games. Does that count for the goal: title beginning with the letter G? We usually get a pass on The/A/An, but it might be more strict in this challenge.
If not, I started a quick read last night Game On with the intention of using it to meet that goal. I just needed a break from the emotional distress of Trail of Broken Wings but I'm sure there will be a chance to use it in the future.

message 533: by megan (last edited Nov 25, 2015 06:41AM) (new)

megan | 1492 comments Oops, never mind. Should have. Checked the spread sheets. But the dude on the cover is wearing jeans, so it will work for that goal. I should have it finished before the end off the day.

message 534: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Megan my fault I forgot to remove it from the list. Abbie did cover it with The Games.

I think Game On by Katie McCoy might work for someone wearing jeans

message 535: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Lol posting at same time. I will ask the mods on the cover just to be sure.

message 536: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1607 comments Right, Thankfully I have finished that book for the hand goal so we are all good for that. Goals haven't changed just making everybody aware.

Didn't expect to take that long, I've just been soo busy. Had to run over to another site for 4 and half hours and then got back I managed to have a break, now I have 50 minutes til end of my shift, I cannot wait :-( will mean I probably won't finish another book in this space!

message 537: by megan (new)

megan | 1492 comments I will have Game On by Katie McCoy done within the next hour or two, which will cover the goal of a cover with someone wearing jeans.

The book I will be starting next is In This Moment by Autumn Doughton and it was published on December 16, 2013!! So luckily we will have that goal taken care of in the next couple of days.

I'm still working on John Adams by David McCullough for the 'Temperance' goal. It's a long one, so if anyone happens to fill the goal before I finish, I promise I won't be upset. :o)

message 538: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Sorry It was open evening at my boys' school so just getting caught up.

Megan Thanks for sorting that out.

Meg you are on roll with books that fit. The jeans were approved.

I have read 2 bad books today, thankfully they were short. I should be finished another one soon and I have started the next Outlander book.
