Does any one have hot chocolate on the cover ?"

I can try to find one with hot chocolate on the front. I think I remember one I found from a chocolate challenge last Valentine's Day.

I'll be doing Winter as well, and A Darker Shade of Magic. I read The Nightingale in September for another group's historical fiction of the month. One of my favorites of the year!

I am reading Him and if I get caught up on the series maybe Winter

The Nightingale and A Darker Shade of Magic were previous Dnfs for me.

Well. I just requested The Nightingale and A Darker Shade of Magic from the library--now I'm a little worried since I haven't really had good luck with my BOM picks so far.

I'll be doing Winter as well--at least I know I'll like that one.

megan | 1492 comments I found a hot chocolate book.

message 956: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1607 comments I doubt I'll do any of the January BOMs I just bought cinder but if I am honest it doesn't appeal so I have been putting off reading it.

I just today got to start Everything I never told you. So I'll just do one day of the dqs and that will be done. Better late than never.

And awesome Meg :-) I couldn't see anything when I looked.

I'm on my mobile so I can't properly update anything atm I may also be a bit busy today got to finish wrapping presents!

Excellent Meg. I was struggling with that one.

Megan I put Cinder off for ages, convinced I would hate then I did a challenge that needed a shoe on the cover so I reluctantly started and I loved it.

Stacey it is probably just me with those books. I might try them again as I have them.

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments I have one for Day 23 and should be able to do a couple of the other days.

message 962: by TheBookishFairy (new)

TheBookishFairy (Lauren) I was planning on reading 'a Christmas Carol' over the next few days which I'm sure will cover at least one goal! I think it could proabably work for 21/22

I would go with 22 for that one. It definitely works for it.

message 964: by Stacey (new)

Stacey (boydsmom) | 1377 comments I finished The Paper Swan for the Back room BOM. Still working on Uprooted.

I also picked up a couple of Christmas novellas for light reading, so maybe one of them will have a Christmas dinner or someone will open presents.

message 965: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments That is great Stacey. I need to get back to the BOM books. I have completed one for Day 23. I wonder what the last two will be.

message 966: by Stacey (new)

Stacey (boydsmom) | 1377 comments I have a ton I can read on my TBR shelf for more than 2 years. Do we need someone to tackle that goal or is someone on it?

message 967: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments No one has claimed any of the current goals. If you can do that one that would be great. I have only 3 books on that long.

Do you think someone getting engaged on Christmas eve counts "Read a book where something important happens on "the night before Christmas" for 10 points!"

Sorry you had to work :( Are you off today ?

I would say that counts.

message 978: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Do you think Poison Princess (The Arcana Chronicles, #1) by Kresley Cole counts for someone getting lost, It has been a couple of years since I read it but doesn't Evie get lost.

message 979: by Megan (last edited Dec 26, 2015 04:04AM) (new)

Megan | 1607 comments Okay we can use that for that goal then.

Hmm I don't remember, it was so bad I got bored but I suppose she does get lost because she ends up at the dudes house in a sort of accident way, I don't think she means to go there.

And yes, I'm working to Monday evening :'(

message 980: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Uggh sorry that sucks :(

I quite liked it, the later books are better. If I remember correctly she sets off on her own, gets lost finds the creepy guy's house and meanwhile the others are looking for her.

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments New Goal

Read a book where the world ends

If any of your unused books fit this let me know.

I hated it, I think I put it was a one star. Just didn't appreciate the slut shaming. However it had potential just sadly didn't think it was that good to spend money on.

I can't think any off the top of my head. Unless theres any dystopia genre books left on the goaless. would have thought most of them are about the world ending in some fashion.

Stacey was reading something for this one.

I thought finding a book that started with As would be easy but I still haven't hit one.

I thought it would be an easy goal too. I opened up about 3 books and they all started with a name.

Ah okay I'll hold off she may finish before me then. This book is a snore.

Anyone have books that fit the current goals ?

message 990: by megan (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments I completed the Shakespeare goal and our new goal is

Read a book that is book 4 in a series

message 993: by megan (new)

megan | 1492 comments Winter is #4 in the series, but we will likely fill that goal before the BOM discussions start. If not, we know it will be covered.

I hope everyone had a safe holiday weekend and Santa deemed you all worthy of the nice list. My husband grew up Jewish, so we did Hanukkah then steam rolled right into Christmas. I made at least 10 dozen cookies.

message 994: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1607 comments Sorry for my quietness today. Been mad at work, nowhere else has bank holidays I suppose so it has been nuts and I've done so much running around I had a lovely large glass of wine to calm down.

Thankfully not in the area for floods in England poor people. I heard that theres been some terrible storm or hurricane or some sort in Texas? I haven't seen the news but my dad was telling me. I hope everyone is ok.

I hopefully should finish Cinder soon and I'm tempted to go and get the next 3. I kind of like the story but not too certain yet.

message 995: by megan (new)

megan | 1492 comments We've had flooding through the middle part of the country and massive thunderstorms:
Our weather mayhem is from El Niño. Basically, the Pacific waters and atmosphere were warmer than usual this year (more like what normally happens in the Atlantic). That warmth spreads across the US, making weather more mild but bringing in extreme amounts of moisture and violent storms. Those Texas tornados are a result, as well as flooding through the central and Easter parts of the country. Lots of roads closed for high water here in Ohio.

What's cause all the extra rain in the UK?

message 996: by Grace (last edited Dec 28, 2015 03:15PM) (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Meg that sounds like a lot of fun and a lot of cookies :)

Megan glad you aren't affected, all those poor people. I am so glad I live on high ground, not much danger of flooding here. I ended up liking Cinder but I still haven't read on.

I have a short 4th in series I can read it completes the series so I should get to it :) I keep hoping that something I go to read starts with as.

message 997: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments I read a 4th in series

New Goal

Read a book that is on your "to read" shelf that has the highest number of pages

Stacey (boydsmom) | 1377 comments I finished Wicked Lovely which has been on my to read list since 2011. I don't like to rush things. :)

Stacey (boydsmom) | 1377 comments I don't want to overstep, but it looks like we have 2 books on our goalless books shelf on the "Books with Unforgettable Characters" listopia list... The Pillars of the Earth at 287 and Clockwork Princess at 887. But I didn't know if that goalless book list is up to date or not?
