Nothing But Reading Challenges discussion

Team Athena

Pretty much you just say if one of your books meets any of the criteria.
Once you finish your book, just let the captain know if it works for any of them.
You can read any book you want, so you can deside, "hey I am going on read one that fits" or hey, "I am going to read what I want, and if it fits, then it fits"

What pops up is your "first" page, as most books will have multiple pages which you will locate on the bottom right hand side under the shelves

No... when you select the book on the right side below the genres appears "See top shelves.." is the first page when choosing that link

No trouble by my part.. Okay... I'm taking a break to read, back in a couple of hours
How do I get to the spreadsheet? Abbie? Megan? Sonia? (I must be really stupid since I am the capitain..)

There is link in first post of this thread to spreadsheet.
To have edit rights you need to PM your email address to mods so we can give them. :)

I kinda embraced my inner stalker this morning and entered all Athena's members profiles in search of the shelves... is a *very* important column on the spreadsheet otherwise script won't work

I know my Poseidon is unusually calm for a thread with 700+ posts

How is the Adrien book? I read first one and have the next three on audio...

So I need to read a book with say one in the title that is number two in a series ? eg

Exactly that.
other examples are

Nothing replaces Ty&Zane. Nothing. They may be good pairings like Dex & Sloane from THIRDS, but that's it. Good pairings. No Ty&Zane.

I agree. I love Dex and Sloae too and Tony and Mac from

Me too.. They better be in Part&Parcel. And not by phone only, like they did in

Attention Team!!!!
Since team captains have to deal with a lot of pressure and decision making, it requires a certain degree of maturity, so we prefer them to have at least 20-25 years old.
We the mods were discussing it, and we decided that is better for Rebecca, and for team Athena to have her as a regular member instead of a captain.
Both Grace and Megan are doing a good job at co-captain, Abby has also been a very pro-active member.
Your mentor Sonia will help with team managing, until we decide what the next step is.
Thank you

I have the current goals listed and who has claimed them. I will try and keep this updated as regularly as possible. To avoid confusion could the two Megans please give me an initial to use beside their names in this post.

Megan and I will try to keep up to date. Please bear in mind we are both in GMT time zone ( I should be in bed right now as it is almost 2am here)

Awesome Grace, looks good!

My shelf is NBRC Tower Teams IV.

Hi Tea :)! Thank you.

Tea keeps track of all scattered hobbits. I think she spent too much time near Mordor which cause some stalkerish habits

okay so Grace has been pretty good last night with her updating everyone. I was sleeping haha. i understand some people don't have access to a computer so they just use an app? pretty sure someone said that in here. I think because of that, if we could keep up to date on here about books being read, and goals we want to go for just incase the spreadsheet doesn't launch on their phone/tablet. Hope that makes some sense.
As Grace said we are both on GMT but i do do night shifts, so some times I will be awake and active during the night which i guess will be the day for some of you. Just if I am on night shift, I will have to put my concentration on work and not on goodreads, sadly. ;(
Also I suppose you could use R for me.
Sorry for any spelling and grammar mistakes, for some reason the app doesn't show me if I spell something wrong. and doesn't do auto caps after a full stop, so frustrating.

Since we have no reserved posts at the beginning of this thread I put important stuff on the Books read thread. You might want to reserve a few spots there in case you need them later.
I am going to link the main goals lists and the BOM threads over there later.

°Read a book set in your home state or country
°Read a book with a red, pink, or orange dress on the coverMegan R.
°Read a book has has a number in the title, and the series is one higher then that number Grace
°Read a book that has been on your "too read shelf" for more then 1 year Stacey
°Read a book shelved (listed on the first page on GR) as to-read - plurals and spelling acceptable Abbie
Remember books read and not already assigned to a goal can be used for any uncompleted goal at any time. Books read this week and beyond can still be used for goals we receive later.

Hi there Sonia!
Haha, I thought so, in the end hobbits always find each other . She's welcome to visit but of course we won't divulge our secret plans and schemes :p

I still have 30% more to go, hoping to finish today as well, but I do have a few things I need to take care of today.

Read a book set in your home state/country
Read a book that has a number in the title with a series number one higher than that number
Read a book that has been on your "to read" shelf for more than 1 year
Read a book shelved (listed on the first page on GR) as to-read - plurals and spelling acceptable
Read a book that starts with the letter W

My bookshelf is: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list... (tower teams)
I was planning on reading Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch (390 pages)

Looking forward to seeing what other people read and chatting about the books! :)

To Lauren: Oo Rivers of London. I really enjoyed the series. It is just the style of urban fantasy that i like. I hope you have good time with it.
My next book is The Robber Bride by Margaret Atwood. My edition of the book is 608 pages but the goodreads page says 528 (it is quite large font so i get why the difference) Which will i use?

This has been on my TBR list, let me know how it is!

Hopefully this link works. I have the two books I am currently reading already on there.

OK thanks Meg that will make life easier.
One thing I am guilty of a lot is when a book is on my TBR I rate it and forget to change it to Read. Your books need to be on your challenge shelf and marked as read to be counted by the spreadsheet.
Please try to use the edition you read unless that one doesn't list a page count then go with one that has the same or closest to your page count.

You can change it on the spreadsheet too, if you want. Just make sure you run the remake members script after

I have to when you guys keep putting my Hobbits in
You know, I think you have a list of Hobbits somewhere so you make sure we don't end up together again :P
On the other hand, this way I manage to recruit new Hobbits ;)
