Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Okay, so... Kelly gave us a tutorial for making the book upload on the spreadsheet automatic - all kinds of awesome - we can turn it on, but, goals & BOMs still have to be added by hand, meaning during GMT waking hours, since both co-captains and I are from that time-zone.

I have a naughty idea... but need to let it blossom first :D

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Well... the hobbits I could fetch from the attic trunk... Snakes is not an option... at least not for me.

message 156: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Okay team, spreadsheet no remakes members shelves once every hour.

Grace and Megan, you can still run it manually if needed.

Ghost in the Stacks So I only have 10% more to go with The Dark Monk (The Hangman's Daughter, #2) by Oliver Pötzsch , how are you all doing with your reading?

Hoping to finish at my first break, so by lunch I can see if I can grab something to go with one of our unclaimed goals.

Yay thanks Abbie :) 3 co-captains we should be a very organised team...

I have like 50 pages left of my current book. But thought I'd check in. This thread is moving fast now the challenge has started!

oooh that W goal is hard, I have one book but its 'the w..' so that probably won't count.

Well done for editing the spreadsheet without breaking it.. I shall be editing it very carefully, lets hope it isn't me that breaks it!

Yes, it counts. You can take the "The, A, An" out :)

Awesome thank you Sonia!

Woop just finished my first book, and managed to update the spreadsheet, and it looks like it's still working.. Go Me!

I had a little moment where I used the 09/11/2015 then went "oh I bet its the other way" so I put 11/09/2015 which is totally confusing and I'll very much mess that up a few more times :)

Okay So I'll do the W one using The Winner's Curse if that is cool. Hopefully should have that finished if it is a good book.

If you mess it up, we'll fix it. Don't worry.

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments @❀Tea❀: Remind me next time to release a draft before start date and to do instructions per tab.

We were too far away from towers III and too close to gladiators for brain to catch up that this had a LOT of new things.

TheBookishFairy (Lauren) I am really enjoying Rivers of London.. I can't believe I put off reading it for so long! Hope everyone else is enjoying their current reads!

message 179: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Glad you are enjoying it. I really need to read Rivers of London, my best friend has been on at me to read it for a long time, when I got the book it was the only one in the series I think there is 6 now and I still keep putting it off.

message 180: by TheBookishFairy (new)

TheBookishFairy (Lauren) I put off reading it for a long time as well - quite a few of the books have come out since I got my copy. I will add a review when I finish it. For the last couple of months of this year I am trying to read books in series I need to finish/ books I have had on my tbr for a while

message 181: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments I start every year with the intention of finishing off series I have already started and reading books I own before buying new ones. I have never lasted very long, I am so easily distracted by something new and interesting.

Megan | 1607 comments Grace wrote: "Everyone is doing great and no one has broken the spreadsheet :)"

I think the word needed at the end of that was 'yet' and I haven't heard of that book before Lauren I'll have to have a look at it :)

Ok. So since I am a minor (14) I am not captain. I have no idea who will be captain or what will happen. Bother Sonia (the mod) not me. I know as much as you do know.
I read The Emporer's Soul and am currently reading The Martian. I have to get back to HW.

Ghost in the Stacks Megan wrote: "Is there a place that we have the currently being read books matched to their goals? The spreadsheets are for books already completed,

We are just posting what you are currently reading, with what goal it might meet at the moment, the goals will be changing all the time, so it might be hard to keep up with who is currently reading what at the moment.
We can however make a list of finished books, that we might be able to use as a goal latter on.

Can you please post your finished book Here

There is a guide to the posting format in post 3. I hope you are enjoying the Martian, my son is reading it at the minute too.

I can use the reserved posts in the books read thread to track unassigned books if you like. There is a tab i the spreadsheet for Goalless books, I can enter the ones we have there if you want.

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Rebecca No problem, can you please add your book to your tower teams shelve and make sure it is marked read. You don't need access to the spreadsheet for the goals the current open ones are

Our current Open Goals

°Read a book set in your home state or country
°Read a book that has been on your "too read shelf" for more then 1 year
°Read a book with the word girl, boy, woman or man (plurals are acceptable) in the title
°Read a book with a homophone in the title Homophones
°Read a book where the kindle version is 500 or more pages

Your book The Emperor's Soul would work for Homophones Soul/Sole if you wanted to add that to your post.

message 197: by [deleted user] (new)

I am currently reading The Martian would that work for
°Read a book with the word girl, boy, woman or man (plurals are acceptable) in the title
I am waiting on Sonia for form access.

message 198: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Rebecca you don;t need form access , if your completed book meets one of our open goals just state the goal on your post and ABbie, Megan or I will enter it for you. You can add the goal Read a book with a Homophone in the title to your post for Emperor's soul and I will update it.

I don't think The Martian works for that goal, but it may work well for a future one.

Rebecca, you only have to tag books on your challenge shelf, which your did, and post books in Athena BOOKS READ, which your also did.

Spreadsheet is only edited by Grace, Megan and Abby, or any of the 7 mods
