Char | 17459 comments Here's the place to post your suggestions for our November Group Read! Please post your choices below and we'll put together our poll.

message 2: by Nate (new)

Nate (the_enobee) | 147 comments After the Halloween-themed story fest of the last month, I'm in the mood for something a little different. This has been on my TBR for a year now, and I would love to knock it down:

Bird Box by Josh Malerman

message 3: by WendyB (new)

WendyB | 5027 comments Mod
I'll toss Coldbrook into the mix for consideration.

message 4: by Robert (new)

Robert Mingee (robertmingee) | 776 comments As an alternative Tim Lebbon title, I'll suggest The Silence, which is still $1.99 for Kindle at the moment, a real steal considering the number of authors I respect who have singled this out as one of the best books of the year.

message 5: by Char (new)

Char | 17459 comments We read Bird Box by Josh Malerman in August of 2014, but I guess we could read it again, if enough people are on board for it.

message 6: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Meloy | 4 comments The Girl Next Door is on my tbr list. I suggest that.

message 7: by Randy (new)

Randy | 103 comments Read Bird Box by Josh Malerman a few months ago, really liked it.

Although (tiny spoiler ahead), for those who read this already - can you explain how in the beginning, when the woman and her children and preparing to leave the house, how does she know it's foggy to assist in her cover when shes blindfolded? That always bugged me...

Anyway, I'm open to suggestions. You guys always post some interesting books I never knew existed. This one has been floating around on my to-read list for a while... The Cipher by Kathe Koja

message 8: by Randy (new)

Randy | 103 comments I'm just going to throw one more out there - A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness

message 9: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Chambers | 8 comments Can i suggest The Mall (Downside, #1) by S.L. Grey

message 12: by Maxine Marsh (new)

Coldbrook is one I've had my eye on, too.

Another that looks good is Evangeline, by e.a. gottschalk

(Still can't get that picture to show--but at least I got the link this time! :) ).

message 25: by Lena (new)

Lena | 2673 comments Coldbrook was good. I'll nominate Your House Is on Fire, Your Children All Gone Your House Is on Fire, Your Children All Gone by Stefan Kiesbye

message 26: by Sophie (new)

Sophie Would everyone think it was a sick move if I nominated my own book LOVE IS RED? It's horror and I would truly be beyond honored and overjoyed if the HA members would read it. Of course I would also be completely terrified but I think it would be worth it.

message 27: by Char (new)

Char | 17459 comments Nominating your own book is frowned upon, Sophie.

Sheldon, I'm not enjoying the sugar tits moniker. Please refrain.

message 28: by Jack (new)

Jack Lewis | 2 comments I'm obsessed with horror books, and with my latest book I wanted to make people scared to walk around their own house at night. I think it's been pretty successful in doing that going off what a few people have said, but I'll let you guys be the judge.

So I'd like to nominate Sickness Behind Young Eyes Sickness Behind Young Eyes (Haunted Shadows #1) by Jack Lewis .

message 29: by Char (new)

Char | 17459 comments That's it! Please do NOT nominate your own books.

You may promote them to your heart's content in the promotional areas of HA. Any further postings like this will be deleted.

message 33: by Char (last edited Oct 22, 2015 11:22AM) (new)

Char | 17459 comments Craziness!! It's been handled, though. The Wanderer has been forced to wander off.

Please, continue on with the suggestions. We've got some good ones, so far. :)

message 34: by Lena (new)

Lena | 2673 comments Ok just to get back on track after all that I'll make another suggestion: The Doll Collection: Seventeen Brand-New Tales of Dolls The Doll Collection Seventeen Brand-New Tales of Dolls by Ellen Datlow

You can nominate as many as you like. I generally take the ones that have been nominated the most number of times and put them in the poll. So please, feel free.

message 41: by Jack (new)

Jack Lewis | 2 comments I didn't realise nominating your own books was frowned upon, but that's my fault for not getting to know the rules. To make up for it I'll nominate a book I think most horror fans will enjoy.

A Head Full of Ghosts

It is a very cool little horror story with a twist.

Really, huh? Gaiman meets Hill? Plus, my name is on the cover? (I usually just go by Char.) I might have to read that one whether it gets chosen or not.
