Aside from children's books, what would you say is the book (or books) that you have re-read most often?

message 2: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Coyle | 1557 comments I normally do not repeat, but Jane Austen for some reason, I can repeat every 10 years, more or less. Also, the movies are very soothing and relaxing to watch every so often.

message 3: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) The books I've re-read most often is Kiss of the Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon, Upon the Midnight Clear by Sherrilyn Kenyon (because I read that at Christmas every year), and I've read Robert Englund's Autobiography Hollywood Monster: A Walk Down Elm Street with the Man of Your Dreamsseveral times now and that's it.

Lauren | 85 comments The Handmaids Tale I tend to re read at least yearly.

message 5: by Roseanne (new)

message 6: by Irene (new)

Irene (zavrou) Apart from my Bible which I read through every year it would have to be The Lord of The Rings.

Cindy (BKind2Books) (bkind2books) | 1190 comments I haven't reread a book in a long time - there are waaaaay too many books that are waiting to be read for the first time to reread a book, not matter how beloved.

message 8: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments Generally speaking, I don't re-read anything. My TBR pile is huge as it is so I can't make time for repeats. However, for a good ten years or so I was reading The Outsiders every Christmas for nostalgia purposes.

message 9: by Faye, The Dickens Junkie (new)

Faye | 1415 comments Mod
I don't get much time for re-reading either, what with my insane book list that could easily stretch as far as the moon, but I do treat myself every now and then to a re-read of Jane Eyre, A Tale of Two Cities, or pretty much anything that L.M. Montgomery ever wrote. They're my happy places. :)

Also, every Christmas I HAVE to read A Christmas Carol. That's probably my most-read right there.

message 10: by Michael (new)

Michael (micky74007) A Separate Peace
A Christmas Carol

message 11: by Rob (new)

Rob | 162 comments Usually i will reread some of John Grisham. I also try and reread Friday Night Lights during football season.

Once I get my tbr pile under control, I want to reread all of my 5 stars.

A H Pride and Prejudice, Twilight Saga and Harry Potter. And also A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini.

message 13: by Susan (new)

Susan (suzybop) | 90 comments I never reread. I intend to often but there's always a new book I want to get to first. I'd really love to reread Game of Thrones series in the vain hope that the next book is somewhere close on the horizon.

message 16: by Amy (new)

Amy | 106 comments The only fiction book I've ever reread is A Little Princess. I love the story and imagery; I can really escape into Sara's world.

message 17: by Irene (new)

Irene (zavrou) Rob wrote: "Usually i will reread some of John Grisham. I also try and reread Friday Night Lights during football season. ."

I know nothing about American Football, my game being rugby union, however when this series was on television it became my secret passion. I was devastated when the series ended and couldn't understand why there wasn't a huge petition to bring it back.

message 18: by Judy (new)

Judy | 30 comments I usually don't repeat either. Exceptions are when I've put a book down for a long time and have forgotten details, I'll start over. The only books that I consciously re-read where the first 5 of the Clan of the Cave Bear series before the 6th book was finally finished.

message 26: by Bridget (new)

Bridget | 39 comments I usually don't usually intentionally reread, though my memory is not the best on marginal books, so frequently I find myself 2 chapters into a book thinking, "This sounds familiar. Have I read this book already?"

message 28: by Overbooked ✎ (last edited Jul 03, 2014 09:14PM) (new)

Overbooked ✎ (kiwi_fruit) | 800 comments I tend not to reread, but when I do it's books that I read when I was very young.
I found some surprises; while I discovered that I changed my mind on some favourites (i.e. I was puzzled on why I loved some books so much), other books I loved even more during a re-read. A very strange experience.

message 29: by Sarah. B (new)

Sarah. B I usually don't re-read much. However, I do like reading A Christmas Carol every now and again.

message 30: by AmberZehr (new)

AmberZehr Weyandt (cheshirebear) Ravished by Amanda Quick. I just love that book. I could read it through and start its over right away when I've finished it and get the same enjoyment out of it it more :-)

message 31: by Laura (new)

How to Be Sick: A Buddhist-Inspired Guide for the Chronically Ill and Their Caregivers
